This content is protected ****ing joke of a sport. Hopefully he’s blackballed from boxing for at least a while.
I am not sure I could continue to defend the sport of boxing to my more casual friends if Miller dances away from this debacle without a serious ban. Disgusting if true.
Who else got through on a technicality recently? Was it Charr? They just need to seal off that loophole for the next drugs cheat and make sure Nobody gives Miller a license for atleast a year. To be fair its a shame he wont get a NY license, id of quite liked to of seen Joshua smashing Miller to pieces even when hes pumped to the eyeballs. Thats how you make a statement.
So Eddie Hearn didn't realize the guy in his main event didn't have a license to box in the state? None of the nonsense going on with this card is enhancing anyone's reputation.
Well, he can still apply, but it's up to any state athletic commission that he applies to for a license to review the facts and reject him.
Yup, If I recall correctly Charr got off because his B sample was opened without a representative from Charr's camp present. His A sample was dirty as hell and his B sample too but the procedure of opening the B sample didn't hold up in court so they couldn't enforce a ban, I think he even still holds his paper "WBA regular" belt.
If the orgs remove him from their rankings then he's pretty much ****ed. That's what should happen here.
Another reason for there to be a US Board of Control that oversees the states. Hearn mentioned it the other day and it makes perfect sense. Create a new Board that has supreme jurisdiction over each of the states and ensures testing is done and all states run by the same rules.
I'm sure he could get one in Mississippi or Alabama but that would be about it. The larger boxing hubs will definitely follow New York's lead. He needs to be sanctioned viciously for talking all that ****, pointing the finger at other people, then being popped not once, not twice, but three times. Especially since he had a prior infraction only 4 years ago.
He should be banned permanently. He wasn't found of one-off cheating or 'accidental' cheating, or 'maybe' cheating. He was found to be OUTRIGHT cheating, and that deserves a permanent ban, no ifs no buts. Not only that, he was caught cheating before that AND he failed not once this time, not twice but three times in the space of a few days with DIFFERENT SUBSTANCES. That is unforgivable. I hope they don't give him a new licence. They need to take the strongest possible line on this kind of thing. This isn't 100m or a bit of Tour de France. This is actually trying to beat somebody up. If this isn't a permanent ban, the sport will be looked upon badly when it was already known for being a total mess. Jarrell Miller should never be allowed to step foot in a ring ever again.
