STFU LOSER. You've been on an anti-GGG crusade for years and years now. You have never been a fan of GGG.

amen. its the only way to be for certain types of men. i dont think anyone teaches that anymore. ive seen maybe a dozen regular posters, in this whole site, who have the emotional strength to keep it about the truth and not their feelings. it really does feel like im intruding in childrens discussions sometimes.

Who isnt wanting to make money?
For years GGG toiled in obscurity not making half of what other boxers were making - worse knowing he could demolish them if given the chance.
Finally gets a big fight in his THIRTIES and he gets ROBBED . And im not going to argue with anyone that first fight was a BAD DECISION.
Lost his unbeaten record and worse shows hes past his prime.
Now hes still dangerous but lets face it he isnt at his best .Signs a huge contract which sets him well off financially forever.
His trainer stands to make TWO MILLION dollars and hes MAD????????? Most people dont make that kind of money working 30 years!!!!!!!
Hell if I was GGG I would be looking to get paid too.
Hes only got MAYBE 3 years left to make money.

The bickering about their pay just sounds like some BS Soap opera drama. I don't see why posters here are so invested on what some guys make.

Boxing is not a game you play for 36 minutes, people get killed in the ring. If it was so easy as holding mitts then every Joe Schmoe on this forum would be a pro.

Just look at the two statements released by both men after their split and see the difference. One is professional, the other is clearly not, bringing up their dirty laundry onto the public.

Nobody is happy with Golovkin taking on Rolls, but their trainer split is not uncommon after a fighters loss. Saying that only Golovkin benefited off of their relationship through the years is also false, Sanchez got his gym packed with fighters who wanted to train there after the exposure he received, and also got paid along the way. Truth is neither of us know what their relationship was like through the years, how close they were beyond professional trainer/fighter.

What I'd like to know is how common/uncommon is the flat fee vs. % of purse in boxing world. I don't know **** about boxin', so educate me. Is Canelo paying Reynoso a giant lump of his astronomical deal?

It was always weird the way Sanchez went on after the 2nd Canelo fight. I mean that was a close fight that could have gone either way. Just back your fighter and say close fight but I thought my guy won. I completely understand how that would have pissed Golovkin off. Plenty of time for admiration of Canelo behind closed doors.

No way is Golovkin going to pay Sanchez 10% of $80 million. He was clearly being incredibly greedy himself if he expected that. Maybe Golovkin low balled him a bit, but at least he’s kept it professional. Thanked him for all his work and moved on. Sanchez is acting pathetic here IMO. It just shows you how much he thought of Golovkin making public attacks on his character like that. Keep that **** behind closed doors.

Stupidest thing I have ever read on here.

Yes, it absolutely is a game. Every single top-salaried boxer, Golovkin included, has the privilege of, like any other athlete in any other major televised sport that involves endorsements and international media coverage, getting paid astronomical sums of money to play a game. People get killed and develop CTE from playing football, too. Every other sport requires a lifetime's dedication of learning and practical application of skill, to reach the uppermost professional elite tier, just like boxing - so you can GTFOH with that "every Joe Schmoe would do it" argument. Yeah, ditto basketball, football etc - nobody's saying they're so easy that every Joe Schmoe can do it. The argument is that maybe something doesn't have to command seven or eight figures just because it requires skill; maybe athletes - whatever sport they be in (and sports, at the very end of the day, are just ****ing games) - oughtn't be making the kind of bank that is otherwise restricted only to preeminent brain surgeons or trial lawyers with monstrous reputations, and surpassed only by the penthouse office brass of conglomerates. The actual worth of athletes' contribution to society is a ****ing drop in the bucket compared with the crazy exorbitant salaries commanded by each sport's top percentile of earners. Boxing like all team sports really ought to have a salary cap. Tens of millions to put on gloves and play half an hour of patty-cake is bull****. GGG isn't researching a cure for cancer. He isn't putting out fires. People that do stuff like that should be the ones earning 10s of millions, rather than diva ****ing athletes. Sportsmen earning millions of dollars and complaining about having to share a chunk of it with the people that got them where they are = free market capitalism at its worst. He's goddamn lucky that DAZN is willing to shell that out, and that enabling fans are willing to rationalize their ring idols (along with all their favorite home run hitters, touchdown scorers, etc) making such absurd figures. He ought to be counting his blessings and bursting with gratitude...especially toward Abel. (and Tom Loeffler)
