Gary Russell willing to move up to face Davis

    Leo Santa Cruz is the opponent Gary Russell Jr. has wanted to fight the past few years.

    If the WBC featherweight champion can’t entice a seemingly reluctant Santa Cruz into a 126-pound title unification fight later this year, Russell has an intriguing alternative in mind.

    Thoughts ? This is the mindset i like in a fighter willing to move up and take dangerous opponents

    That's a great fight. I'd say Russell gets caught on the way in and then gets finished by Tank. But if he fights cautiously and keeps tank away then he could take a decision

    Not according to LSC himself. :smile: In his words, GRJ doesn’t want this fight.
    Yet, Gary Russell Jr. wants to fight Tank. It looks a little bit like “Brook/Mikey syndrome” to me. :smile:

    Kinda have to agree with you on this Russel has the better boxer IQ outta of the two,, would be a very interesting match wouldn't mind seeing it!

    GRJ could go up and beat some SFWs, Tank ain't one of em. Tank isn't a plodder. He's huge, a legit bomber and a fast southpaw. And he's willing to stand and trade if he has to. That could be a potential disastrous fight for GRJ.
