An effort never seen before from him? That was just another day at the office. Duran was a force of nature all through his title reign. He was just being Duran. It was just a bigger profile fight.
I agree he never fought with the same kind of intensity again after that.

Yes, never before seen from him. Absolutely. Who ever forced him to have to dig that deep?

Wow. The second greatest heavyweight fight and top 6 all weight fight I ever saw. I find no fight more inspirational. Your heart must be dead. Are you a zombie? C'mon. This would explain a lot. Me thinks you are becoming a MarkAntSaad zombie. FIGHT THE FEVER FILLY?

Which allowed Leonard to win. The 1st fight was not close. I had 11-4 easily. You Leonard nutters just cant stand that Duran is was and would always be better than LEONARD at their respective primes. Get over it. Leonard has Duran living rent free in his head. So do his fans.

First one that came to mind. To warriors, past prime, giving us a great fight but...Joe was semi-shot going in and Ali was already heading downhill at that point with his 'bums of the month' on the horizon.

'C'mon'...they were both past prime, especially Joe and Ali was clearly past it.
Granted a great fight delivered from two over the hill greats but...
    1) the FOTC Joe would have had the 'Thrilla' Ali on ***** street!
    2) prime Ali would have had the 'Thrilla' Joe stopped my early-mid rounds.

Chavez v Taylor. Was a good fight with a dramatic ending, but I could never understand people losing their minds over it.

    Hagler vs Leonard
Disappointing snooze fest. Leonard got into my man Haglers head and out foxed him in a boring fight.

I would have to agree, Hagler was obviously the better fighter, but just got played mentally and he took to many rounds off. Ray showboated, ran, and boxed when he had to. In my opinion he lost to Hagler despite his good showing.

I wonder if the odd person is only seeing the first half of the thread request and not filling the brief.

Unless i am grossly mistaken the thread asks not for "over-rated fights", but fights in which the winner receives too much credit for the victory i.e. over-rated plaudits. Over-rated wins if you like, tho it could potentially be a loss too.

Taylor - Chavez would not be an example as Chavez receives only split praise due to many thinking he lucked out due to the controversial finish after being outpointed for the overall entirety. Sure some give Chavez big credit but a great many don't so in this case it definitely doesn't count more than it should.

There's sure to be some fierce debate in this one :D

Look forward to a Tyson fan putting forth Tyson - Holyfield!!!!

You guys are just evaluating the fight by different criteria. I think you're both right.

That would have been a great matchup in 86-87. Camacho was badly faded by the time they actually fought.
