Fiordigiglio is having a hard time finding his range, walking onto counter jabs. Fiordigiglio looks sluggish, as if shaking off rust? (edit: he just fought on the previous DAZN Italia card, five months ago). Taking a while to show any hustle and when he does the work is untidy. Danyo covering, waiting his turn, and scoring with sharp well-timed jabs and 1-2s.

Danyo protesting a little over much, did seem that Fiordigiglio drilled him with a borderline rabbit punch as he was going down (slip) but it looked neither flagrant nor particularly high-impact. "Suck it up, buttercup" - is basically the response of the ref.

 

Fiordigiglio seems much diminished from his prime 4-5 years ago, but he might still be able to catch and hurt Danyo at some point if he can maintain a serious effort (and if the Dutchman happens to make a mistake; I've long suspected that he is harboring glass..)

I strongly dislike "The Chosen One" and have always liked Fiordigiglio, but haven't found a round I could even think of giving the Italian so far.

 

This is like a less skillful repeat of Ulysse Jr. vs. Claggett II from last night..
