Maybe because Golovkin showed his true colors when he decided that the man who molded him for nine years, who served as his PR man for much of that time, who Golovkin called family, even "father", by offering him a 5th of his regular percentage pay once he made it big-time.

    Stay classy G.

Like I said before, the bullying style works against lesser opposition. Against someone on a similar level or defense you have to box.

If you've ever boxed you would realize that you can use whatever style you want to beat down someone smaller and less experience. Against someone on a similar level and you realize you have to box more carefully.

Now, if you trained for a style that only works against lesser opposition, what happens when you go against someone that you can't use that style against? You resort to boxing carefully.

In Triple G's case he went back to his boxer style. However for the past 9 years he trained solely to bully and pressure fight. You don't think he would be rusty if he reverts to his boxing style that his trainer made him abandon since the beginning?

Any unbiased person with boxing experience should be able to see Golovkin was a much slicker boxer in his younger years. If he had stuck to his original style and honed it he would've done much better against Canelo.

Abel's corner work on Canelo 2 fight was horrendous, he was basically telling GGG to go to war the whole fight.

That was his only real option.

We all know GGG wasn't going to outbox Canelo. It's not his strength.

Golovkin's only shot at beating Canelo that night was following Abel's instructions and going balls out.

GGG wasnt going to win a decision against Canelo, unfortunately going to war and knocking out the Ginger was a sure fire way to win.

    “Molded him”, lol.

Look at GGG before Abel. He was a beast. Proska was GGG’s first fight with Sanchez and you can see GGG being his usual self, not the GGG that Abel trained. All his skills were on display in that fight and trust me, it’s wasn’t because of Abel Sanchez, it’s because he always had it. GGG was a destroyer before Abel started training him.

So take your “father” comment and save it for your sugar daddy. It started as a business deal and ended as a business deal. In your little dream world, you think Abel took GGG when he was a poor little pub and turned him into the fighter he is. No, it was GGG who turned Abel Sanchez into the trainer he is today.

That's not how GGG fights. He's not going to fight like a ****** and hedge his bets on something he has no control over. He's going to box first and foremost, Abel should have realised this and offered him tactical advice to help him with that gameplan.

Not only that, most people thought GGG did outbox him, if he went to war and got stopped then what? It's 100% a loss. Sure he could have won as well maybe but you never know. Boxing is the primary strategy always, you engage in a war if there's no way to win otherwise and you're vastly outskilled.

Going to war isn't his strength. While GGG hits hard he lacked the speed to go at it against Canelo. His best chances was straight boxing him. If he had trained to straight up box strategically and worked on speed for the entire camp he might have taken more rounds in the rematch. Instead, Abel made him train to just throw hard punches with little strategy.

I also bet the reason why Golovkin didn't throw many body punches was because Abel didn't do strategy based body punching drills to give G the confidence and conditioning to be defensively responsible while going to the body. Likely just had him throw hard low punches on the mitts repeatedly lol

    I've always said this.

GGG is the reason for GGG's success.

Just like Ward was Ward's and Maravilla's was Maravilla's. Hunter and Sarmiento were and are useless.

lmao! yeah, i remember all these experts talking about how ggg should box better instead of just mashing guys back then. the forum was full of threads telling ggg how wrong he went about his business. first, he chose a crap trainer he never even needed, then he fought like an ape instead of dazzling them with his boxing skills. dont know why he chose to ignore all our experts.o_O

then you, sir, can say whatever the f you want, without fear of falling in the talkin out the ass category. i want to see all these experts claiming abel made him worse, to show me all their posts claiming that, before able forced some feelings on em.
i could be wrong, but i suspect they were furiously wacking it every time ggg knocked over a pin.
