Exactly this. I wonder what DAZN would say (and let me emphasise that this would be a terrible scenario) if GGG told them that if they don't pressure Canelo to fight him in September, that he'll never fight him? They'd probably drop a load in their pants.
Ring is an American boxing magazine owned by Canelo's promoter FFS! That shows how seriously that argument can be taken. He was not the 'lineal champ' other than in the eyes of a small number of nuthuggers. The whole 'lineal champion' idea is spurious as hell anyway, but the idea behind it is that of being the 'rightful' champion. You cannot claim to be the rightful champion at a weight you have never fought at! As for cash, if you believe fighters should be given title shots based on how much loot their promoter can throw around as opposed to what they've done to earn one then that's up to you. I prefer to see fighters earn them in the ring. Not that I had a problem with him being given the shot as it was a mouthwatering matchup. But IMO, there is unfinished business there and they need to return the favour without playing silly beggars about it.
A solid chinned fighter on strength peds is very difficult to KO moving backward and not throwing punches. This plus corrupt judges is how the middleweight titles were taken. This is an example of why we are in the declining phase of boxing as UFC takes over with the best fighting each other and minimal corruption. Sad.
If boxing wasnt 100% corrupt GGG would still have his titles & Moonelo would be begging for a shot. Oscar Fishnets would have been kicked out of boxing along with Bennett & his NSAC hombres. Its a shame just a few low life POS can ruin the greatest sport in the world
He fought him twice but they're waiting till he's 40? No one even cares about that fight anymore. I'd rather see Canelo fight Charlo, Andrade, Saunders, or any of the other top 160 guys.
Moonelo is despised because him & his fishnets wearing promoter are just out & out CHEATS!!. Biased judges & a State Commision that gives them carte blanche do do as they wish KNOWING its illegal together have damaged boxing beyond repair. No real unbiased BOXING fan believes Moonelo is the Real champion

The rematch was a clear win for Canelo, no need to see him beat GGG again. He has bigger fish to fry now.
