Imo he needs to get past a real middleweight (not Khan and Cotto) without any controversy before he can say he is, but yes, I think he will go onto be an ATG. What about you?

Does he have any ATG qualities, Chin, Power, Speed, Defence ect.

I don't think he does there. What about you?

He's definitely HOF level possibly great but an ATG might be a stretch, don't think he would of done as well during more competitive era's.

I personally had him beating Golovkin twice but one good name at middleweight isn't enough for ATG status, especially as Golovkin looked past his prime even before Canelo. I mean is Jermain Taylor an ATG middleweight for beating a faded Hopkins twice?

Canelo's resume looks pretty thin compared to some other ATG's, Golovkin, Cotto, Khan, Lara, old Mosley isn't exactly a resume that screams ATG.

Even if he beats Jacobs convincingly he needs to rack up some more good wins and a lengthy reign if there's a lack of big names for him to face.

Does Canelo attributes and skill to go on to prove to be an ATG? Yes. However his resume is weak at present considering he should really lost both GGG fights and Lara.

    I think hes on pace.

hes only 28, most greats lately get to their late 30s still winning fights so there is still plenty to come unless he retires young due to a young start and having a ton of money

maybe I'm wrong but I feel as though hes hitting his physical stride and grown into 160 and got his punch to meet his new weight. I expect him to beat Jacobs easier than it looks on paper. I then expect him to continue to win fights st 160

I dont know how effective he is at 168 though I dont see any real special talents there

it's funny though because I thought 160 was going to be a bridge too far but hes done well

He needs more. And he is in a weak era, which hurts him. Something is lacking in today's boxing and I have not figured out fully why boxing is not as good now. Maybe the best athletes are not considering boxing anymore.

HOF now. By then end of his DAZN deal we'll know if he's ATG.

I agree it's nothing like the 90s or 50s but it has definitely been worse

No, he is good, but not good enough to beat top fighters without help from DLH

Hh is on the money ...he is good but its spoilt by the peds, judges ducking GGG earlier on ,weight draining Chavez, controversial Lara win...its all too much.As soon as Dela Hoya finds a new cash cow Ped boy will win this way, lots of paper wins but Zero respect as Duran, Hagler, Hearns etc

I've known he was and will continue to build more ATGreatness from the Mathew Hatton fight around that time I knew what we had.

Simply great, ATG without question Only haters and trolls will say otherwise

It is hard to pinpoint why. Boxing is not the attraction to people as it was before. I would like to see how many people joined boxing say in 1975 compared to 2015. The level has gone down. Yet I don't want to sound like some old guy who says the old days were better and the modern days are not as good, because they were saying that about the 40s in the 1980s.
