Apparently, Ortiz did not refuse the offer, he didn't even get to hear about it before his promoter declined it. According to his manager, they would accept the offer and his promoter dropped the ball by calling it a lowball offer in the hope of getting more. There is something very Al Haymon about this whole mess.. because in who's interest was it to decline the offer? Ortiz? I think not..

I guess there is still a chance that Ortiz could be picked again.

Wilder is as predictable as the actual idiot forum joker which is you and we all know it.

Wilder in fact is Joshua's easiest fight next to Martin which is why we haven't seen it yet bc his handlers know it to.

Style wise you would see this if you weren't a cheerleader , but such a simpleton as yourself wouldn't get it anyway. :cheer:

I hope you're right but Ortiz hasn't been consistent in terms of his story regarding this. At first he said he wanted the fight but it all came down to what his team decided, then his team said no and got heat for it when they said Hearn was low balling and now suddenly Ortiz is going back on what he said before and saying his team's decision doesn't matter and it's down to him. If that's the case why say it was down to his teams decision in the first place? To me it sounded just like an excuse to not accept the fight.

I don't think Ortiz will take it, if he's offered it again, he doesn't want the fight, he's more than happy to keep making small paydays beating over matched opposition until Haymon gives him another crack at Wilder. But I hope I'm wrong and Ortiz's takes the fight, he's clearly the best opponent available right now.

I don't belive that. Any offer Hearn made would have included Ortiz Manager as that's standard procedure. I don't accept that the Manager would not have told Ortiz what was on the table.

I can accept the Manager and Ortiz were naive in thinking they could let a promoter try and play hard ball with Hearn to squeeze more money but still that could have been avoided.

Any genuine goodwill to the Manager is lost when he decided to call out Hearn claiming the deal was a lowball. Nobody forced him to do that.

To an extent, it does seem extremely bizarre that Ortiz was unaware of the offer however the pack of potential opponents for Joshua know that they hold the cards due to the time limitations that Hearn has to get a reputable replacement.

You can't blame them for starving out Hearn to get what they feel is a fair deal, Joshua can't headline himself.
