Allen is the bookies favourite , sad for Price ... But if Allen survives 4 rounds, he will probably win. Price should work on his stamina and he wins this with ease.
You all know how I feel about David Price, I can't wrap my head around how he keeps getting Sky Sports fights and slots on PPV cards. What bothers me more than anything is what Price said.. "There are big upsides for the winner" That comment alone should disturb every boxing fan, Price quit on his stool, beat Tom Little via British stoppage, Kash Ali via DQ and Price struggled.. Now he is saying beating Dave Allen (who himself is seriously questionable) gives you "big upsides". What the hell is Hearn telling Price? And Dave Allen for that matter? It's just sickening and makes me wonder what Hearn is planning with two bang average fighters.
I think it's going to be Chisora for the winner, then possibly Whyte for the winner of that (I know Chisora has lost to him twice but this is boxing afterall)
I'm willing to bet this will be a more entertaining fight than Garcia v Spence. Ideally, we get to see Price gas/fall over in farcical fashion then a fine, mouth-watering clash between Chisora and Allen for the Ring Magazine Official British Gatekeeper Championship.
I havent seen any Price fight since Povetkin but i saw Allens last fight against Browne. Was mind blowing how terrible he looked until that class body punch. Allen was being hit at will by the sluggish Browne. Surely if Price tees off and lands with the same frequency as Browne he should put Allen away ?
I was also thinking this, Price hits harder than Browne and is a better boxer. He should be able to put Allen out but Price is not what he used to be.
Price gets out of breath putting his bin out - Even more so (somehow) these days. If I had to choose it's a Price win and we can move on from this Dave Allen freakshow and Price will lose his next fight if/when he fights anybody in shape and can punch.
Yeah my initial thinking is price KO early 1-3 is the value bet. Dave Allen is pretty poor, pricey should deal with him but he’s a mentally shot fighter against anyone nowadays? Was he losing to that bitey guy before it got canned? Is gnasher any worse technically than Allen?
Much worse, Price had won every round but a) was reluctant to let his hands go and b) had slowed right down. If Ali could’ve hung in there a little longer he would’ve took it. I’m far from Allen’s biggest fan but Kash Ali is area level at best. We’ve seen Dave’s chin against some proper decent opponents and stand up. Price is a shell of his former self which weren’t even too good anyway!
Price was saying he is only two fights away from a title shot lol... Don't think Hearn is daft enough to put Price or Allen in with AJ.... and I don't believe Whyte would accept being put with Allen again who he already beat, who he already spars regularly. Price vs Whyte is a potential possibility, but we know how that would go.
