More over at the scene

Man, PBC sure are doing a number on SHO. Espinoza should be eating his own hair at this point.
2019 has not been kind to SHO

They opened the year with a solid bang; Pacquiao-Broner did 400k in sales in January.
    February: Davis-Ruiz 429,000 average.
Davis was scheduled to face Mares but had to settle with Ruiz on short notice.
    March: Lara-Castano 500,000 average
A really good fight on paper and delivered in ring, but Castano was an unknown and it showed.
    April: Shields-Hammer 369,000 peak
Solid match up but between two women.
April: Easter Jr. - Barthelemy 312,000 average
At least for once they managed to cram in two cards in one month, besides the SHOBox cards

    May: Wilder-Breazeale
Good job on getting that for regular SHO, as Wilder has been the networks biggest draw for a while now. He usually averages around 1,000,000.

But this is all they have scheduled. So no wonder the ratings are down from last year, which wasn't a good year either.

I think outlasting HBO in the fight game is going to prove a Pyrrhic victory in the long run, and Showtime will bow out with a whimper rather than a bang. They're still not fully recovered IMO from that monumentally stupid deal they made puckering their buttholes wide and giving Mayweather free reign to loot the coffers of the network's allotted sports programming budget.

It isn't entirely the matchmaking. Haymon is screwing them up. All those welterweights moving to FOX has really put a huge dent into Showtime.

But don't worry everyone, Floyd will once again come along to save the Weasel from humiliation!

Easter Vs Rancid does not deserve to be a headline fight on any network let alone Showtime which is a premium service

So are the PBC fighters that fight on FOX, exclusive to fox?

If they are exclusive to FOX... which would be a bit surprising to me, but if they are.... who is even left with SHO that they can build on?

Seems like ESPN, DAZN and FOX are really putting SHO in a rough place.

None of those headliners are going to be of interest to a casual sports fan,and Pac V Broner was a circus.

What did you expect the fight to do? 1m views lol. Was a fight between two people nobody knew, I’m sure 350k is fine for their expectations.

Why don’t we have a convo about what dazn is doing :hang

You never bury your main competition. Showtime should have helped HBO stay afloat after watching what happened to Vince McMahon and WWE after they killed WCW. WWE went down the drain in ratings and can barely fill one side of an arena today. Couldn't see that coming in the era of The Rock and Stone Cold but he sees it now.
Haymon doesn't promote fights well. He relys on the internet to do all the work , only Wilder tries to sell a fight, Broner use to and so did Thurman before he became Kung Fu the Legend Continues, traveling the earth like a hippie.

    :deal:

They should have been viewing these newfangled emergent-tech streaming apps more as the common enemy, with HBO & Showtime - while still maintaining distinct corporate identities and remaining nominally competitors, uniting in the interest of preserving the hegemony of premium cable as the presumptive destination for the world's greatest boxing programming.

I have this question as well. I thought PBC guys were able to move fluidly from FOX to Showtime due to the fact that Haymon effectively controlled them. ESPN is slowly building a force (again) and despite some missteps I have no doubt DAZN will eventually be one.
