Not only was he a year older and fatter since he iced Wlad, he scored a genuine knockdown on vitali (yes it was ruled a slip, but that sniper left had vits on the run)

Sanders had literally shot his load by round 4, but it took vits until round 8 to get a standing stoppage over a totally gassed part time golfer, who let’s face it, was pretty much there for the pay day.

If Sanders had actually bothered to train, could he have stopped vits when he had him on ***** Street ? I reckon so.

If Lewis had bothered to train against Rahman. If Lewis was still motivated when he fought an underrated Vitali. I could go on.

    Sanders was a generational talent.

Sanders is my man, but when he turned up looking like a beached whale for the Vitali fight I knew he was in deep crap. Yeah, maybe he could have gotten Vitali out of there. Certainly Sanders hit as hard as the best of them. But Vitali is as tough as bunker concrete and I suspect the same thing was going to happen, just in round 11 instead of 8. Age 37 is a thing, unfortunately.

Probably about the same. His conditioning didn’t stop him from landing multiple bombs and training better wouldn’t have allowed him to do 12 with Vitali at his age.

He just tried to take Vit out early. He knew if it would go into deep rounds he'll get KOed.

It wouldnt have mattered, he still would have had no head or upper body movement and still would have been stiff AF so he still would have got worked. When he fought Wlad, that Wlad was an all-offensive fighter whose offense was his defense, and that version was always and would have always been a sucker for Sanders jackhammer hairtrigger left. Vitali was always much more cautious, he didnt have the talent and tools that his brother had and along with his kickboxing background was much more aware of return fire. For Sanders to have ever beaten Vitali he would have needed a time machine back to when he started and the right trainer to incorporate head and upper body movement and better footwork. He half-assed it his whole career and still had a very respectable and good career. Thats a testament in itself as to how talented and gifted he was.

No difference, but it´s true Sanders was one of the biggest under achievers in HW ever.

The left of Sanders was quick enough and hard enough to drop anyone imo, I think it just takes Vitali longer if Sanders comes in the best shape of his life

There was a moment (Round 2 I think) when Sanders landed a short dry left hook to the tip of Vitali's chin that turned his legs to rubber for a moment. I guess that was what Sanders was hoping for: An early KO victory because he knew he had no chance in a war of attrition.

No. But he would have lasted longer. Either gets stopped in the championship rounds or loses a UD.

Klit beats him no matter if he trained like Little Mac.
