    You'e an outlier on this one.:thumbsup: Do you actually watch the show? And you didn't ask my opinion on The Sopranos. I rank it right alongside GOT. The Wire. isn't worthy of holding either's jockstraps, not saying the show isn't good, just not on their level.

    I've watched some of it. Dont have any real issues with it even though I'm pretty picky with fantasy in general and have a penchant for crime dramas. I'm just standing by to attest for the greatness of The Wire more than anything else.

    I was there from the first episode, and I did all the research ahead of time on the different houses. That helps a lot. Its not a great idea to just go in blind, and its not some show you can just willy nilly hop right into in any season. Its gradually builds and builds from season to season, ratcheting up the tension from episode to episode.If yo're pretty picky when it comes to fantasy, you must hate all fantasy, because its the greatest fantasy series ever, far surpassing LOTR at this point. The show is at times gut wrenching, and yeah its quite old school, honor and code based and pretty conservative, it will appeal to your sensibilities if you give it more of a chance. You're really, and I mean really depriving yourself of an amazing experience if you don't give this show more of a chance. Some shows peak in the first or second season, this show's first season is nothing but a prologue, ever succeeding season elevates its game. Its not something you can base an opinion on after a few episodes. You have to invest in it, the show is a little demanding of you, but its well worth the investment.

    Middle Earth is by far the best high fantasy universe. Pretty much everything else is just a cheap aping of it. Nobody had surpassed Tolkien. No one. As for Game of Thrones I'll probably go back to it once it's over.
