OK, but at some point you have to decide, and follow your decision to its logical conclusion when assessing both fighters.

Either Louis should have won, or Walcott should have won, or you don’t know either way.

If you are convinced that Wacott was robbed, then you can’t use the fight against him.

??? why can't i use it ??? I think Walcott was the better in the first fight and the majority who saw the fight in the press and the crowd agree.

The point of the thread is in the title. Joe Louis' scorecards vs the best boxers he fought. And he's behind on the cards despite many advantages.

The data is spot on. No one is saying it's not, and those who debated found themselves in a deeper hole when I extended the list.

Youve had several people, myself included, hammer home the point of just how skewed your subjective data is. The fact that you ignore it, like you ignore everything that doesnt jive with your little fantasy world doesnt mean it didnt happen.

And I obliged your and added two names you felt should have been on the list. It sucks for you the math still does not work out. You still won't answer some of my questions. I asked 2x if you though one of the score cards on Louis vs Charles was horse @rap. Five round for Louis? LOL. Admitting the truth further diminishes whatever hope you have, so you ignore these questions asked. Rahte

Maybe you can admit I have some points, but to do so you'll have to let your objective reasoning trump your rooting interests.

If anyone wants to list a better boxer that Louis fought clearly better than Schmeling, Conn, Walcott or Charles, the floor is there's to bring up another name. But they won't because I already named the best, so how is this data skewed? It isn't. The title of the thread is crystal clear. And keep in mind in some matches Louis opponents were more out of their prime than he was!

Thanks again for allowing me further chances to illustrate my point.

It is shocking how well this post has held up, and how many people had a hard time accepting it.

When the facts are on your side, it's okay to be unpopular. To quote Howard Cosell " What's right is not always popular and what's popular is not always right. "

Lucky for us we have film, in addition to the scorecards which I pointed out were favorable to Louis. Sure, Louis won 5 rounds vs Charles as one judge said! Sarcasm. The reality is the rounds won vs. lost for Louis is even more lopsided than the official scorecards say, but they said enough to prove my point easily.

    Just read this entire thread.

Mendoza cops a worse beating than any of Joe Louis's opponents ever did . But you have to admire his Joe Grim like ability to absorb the punishment and stubbornly keep persisting.

    Kudos Mendoza!

Joe Louis was very lucky Max Baer broke his right hand at the end his explosive combination against Louis in Round 2.
Max really pasted him in the corner as the bell rang. You have to wonder how that fight would have gone if Max had come in healthy.

This was considered Louis's finest performance as well.

Joe Louis (or his trainers) used the bad hands excuse himself a few times.
It's just part of the game.

Louis wasn't lucky. At the end of round 1 Louis is beating him up with the jab before Baer lands a big hook and right hand on Louis and goes on the all out attack with time left in the round. Louis turns the tide in a mere 7 seconds and completely owns Baer for the last 26 seconds of the round blasting Baer with blistering right hands as he is belted into passivity. Baer doesn't even get a single punch off in this period. Baer's right hand seemed fine at various stages and he himself put forward no excuses, quite the contrary.

Louis turned his aggression around in round 1 and would have again.
