What chance does Ruiz have to upset AJ?

If you know boxing then you know Povetkin has beaten and been in with far better boxers than Ruiz has ever faced. Ruiz has never been at Povetkins level.

Povetkin was clearly past prime but still dangerous in the early rounds, as he showed.

I'm not bashing Ruiz, I think it's a better fight than Miller. It's just not a fight Joshua will lose but I wouldn't be surprised if Ruiz wins rounds. This AJ 23rd fight, he clearly isn't the finished article.

If Ruiz was an active fighter I could easily see him breaking the top 10 in the division. But as it sits right now, I rate Miller much higher. Unfortunately for Ruiz, even if he was a clear top 10 he would pose less of a threat than any of the other. He just doesn't have the tool to bother AJ.

My point is that Povetkin hasn’t beaten anyone ranked since 2015 (and it was Perez who was not very good). Povetkin was dropped by Price before fighting Josh and Ruiz destroyed Dimitrenko. Dimitrenko and Price are very similar so I don’t see much evidence that Povetkin was still a better fighter than Ruiz.

They both beat poor HWs in Price and Dimitrenko. That doesn't mean Ruiz and Povetkin are in the same level that's just nonsense. It just means their both better than the guys they beat.

Price landing that left hook was a good shot. It's not a movie, when two guys are throwing punches sometimes somebody lands.

Nunn would be a better opponent than Ruiz.

Ruiz has none of the countering ability of Povetkin.

Usyk P4P is much better than AJ it will be a case of weather he can take AJ`s power and deal with his reach.

The bodies are carrying too much weight, watch vids of AJ training, those two would not be able to train like that.

I don`t think AJ is anywhere near as good as you`re suggesting or at least he hasn`t proven it yet.

Ruiz isn`t as markelable as Miller, I don`t think he is respected by any boxing experts.

Joshua is going to end this early. Round 4 or less. Another alternative that is not altogether improbable is that Ruiz troubles Joshua and has good moments until he (Ruiz) is ktfo. A very small probability is that Ruiz lands something good and knocks Joshua down or out. Have only seen Ruiz in the fight against Dimitrenko (sp). When the other guy does nothing it is easy to look good. Some guys that are fat can fight. time will tell.
