People are complaining about lack of competition in the current heavy weight division, and honestly I don't disagree with them.
Anthony Joshua is taking advantage of the situation and enjoying being the current heavyweight king.
So let's pull one of the heavyweight champions from the past, and see what you think he would do against AJ. It is Sultan Ibragimov, one of my favorite heavyweights. Extremely fast hands, highly skilled and has knock out power.
Do you think he would defeat Anthony Joshua?

The Sultan would outbox Joshua but get robbed on the cards.

We all know that the fight doesn't happen because Sultans in line for a shot at the WBC belt and the money on offer isn't enough.

Joshua ends up fighting Lance Whitaker and wins TKO 2.

He might do as well as Parker did. Maybe.

Sultan didn’t throw a punch against Wlad. He would not win.

the only fight you can use as a comparison is wlad .

in that fight sultan fought on the backfoot and outside
he was unprepared to walk through wlad and got outjabbed in a boring ugly clash of styles fight unable to land much due to the reach and height disparity

a few left kooks to the body and virtually no straight lefts down the pipe

v joshua you have to guess sultan would box the same

he has the footspeed and smarts to make it a ugly fight for joshua but not the length to win he was a short heavy about 6.1
he would have been avoided in the who needs him club /sultan was a good boxer and smart and hard to look good against and beat but joshua would win/ the style match up is wrong for sultan.

    good analogy
i think that joshua v ibragmanov would be a carbon copy type fight as parker v joshua albeit sultan was a southpaw.

boring negative fight with sultan using angles and fighting off the backfoot but more worried about incoming than throwing and joshua just content to jab and use height and reach and take no chances v a tricky southpaw.

holyfield was next to shot yeh, i cant find anything on iggys record that says he has fast hands against anyone who isnt a threat - if they arent he can do fast hands as much as he wants as can anyone.

it would be one of those ifghts where a little fat guy runs out and throws lots of weak punches at some huge muscle man, and nothing happens. The the muscleman goes THUURPTHUURP twice and the little chub falls over.

    You've seen them before.
