Every time Canelo gets a big win, it's absorbed indirectly by Mr.Floyd Joy Sinclair

Floyd shut him out 12-0. We just see how great Floyd was to shut someone like Canelo out. Floyd embarrassed him in there but he does that to everyone so Canelo has nothing to be ashamed about. Floyd Joy is just that great.

    Lara
    GGG x1, 1 draw
    Jacobs
    Kirkland
    Khan
    Chavez
    Cotto

Floyd is doing big things even in retirement.

People don’t miss Floyd and forgot about him quickly.

In 5 years he is going to be broke.

Golovkin-Canelo 2 was more exciting and action packed than Mayweather’s whole career.

Boxing finally recovered after the Mayweather-Pacquiao scam.

The PPV buys and ratings speak otherwise. Everyone wants to watch that man fight.

Well floyd fought one single time against an elite opponent that was taller and heavier then him in odhl and it was one of the closest bouts of his career. We should also add that odhl is only 2 inches taller then floyd, while jacobs is 4 inches taller then canelo.

The only reason for that is because Floyd has long limbs for his height, he out-ranges a lot of his opponents.

He's fought much bigger men MANY times in his career and that fight wasn't that close. Revisionist history....

    Many had it 9-3.

This has no bearing on Floyd in any way. This isn't the same Canelo.

If Canelo was beating these type of guys at 154 Floyd would have never fought him.

The Jacobs win has no impact at all on Floyds legacy.

    Bore off.

Probably just a wind up thread but still, Mayweather's victory over Canelo was a big win. I became a fan of Alvarez ever since he dropped Baldomir like a sack of ****, I remember thinking he'd give a lot of good fighters problems with his style, so for Mayweather to deal with him like he did and for Alvarez to go on to become lineal mw champ is quite impressive.

    No.

At 22 you're still learning... Like most craft's, you only get better with experience.

    What's your excuse?

This was the best version of Canelo I've seen, imho. And holy crap, the lad can take a punch!

Mayweather's legacy is fine in it's own right, but the version of Canelo he beat is nothing to do with this one so has no bearing on it.

Floyd said that he liked to fight fighters at the weight class that they are most comfortable. Floyd fought Canelo at 152 where he was a corpse.

Not true. Mayweathers reach is 73 which is not that long, there are plenty of fighters that have a reach that is 4 inches longer then their height.
Who was much bigger? Hatton, Pac or Mosley?
As high as i rate mayweather, i have to admit that mayweather didnt want to fight taller guys that were fast. He prefered a smaller opponent that was moving foward.
Fact is canelo beat 4 guys now that were taller and heavier then him with 3 of them beeing elite level.
