He can beat Kovalev. Because if he ever fights Kovalev, he will set a catchweight/rehydration clause combination that will render Kovalev helpless, but Kovalev will still take the fight for the payday.
exactly right,Ward looked all at sea after getting dropped by Kovalev and I'll never forget him leaving his corner and running headlong into Kovalev to the him up and wrestle as he often did. One thing I love about Canelo and Golovkin is how clean they are as fighters,Canelo can properly fight on the inside like a Duran would instead of resorting to Wards idea of inside fighting which is just straight up wrestling imo.
do you mean legit UD or razor close pick em fight that only goes one way lol? not seen Kovalev of late actually, heard he looked ok last time out and looked controlled. He is way past is best though for sure. The one who legitimately beats Canelo by some margin is Callum Smith imo and I only say this on the back of that Groves performance. That's one fight where I wouldn't have an issue with a weight clause as Smith is huge lol.
I know Canelo has talked about Kovalev which is mighty impressive for a middleweight.I just think about that Ward fight albeit he's regressed since then but if Ward hadn't of done his usual st fighting thing Kovalev would of picked him apart at his range.Canelo is such a clean fighter(hardly need a ref with him)I think he might struggle to get past Kovalevs jab.
Its funny you see so many anti GGG threads and when you ask why you get "His fan bro they think he can KO heavyweights!!!" so it will be interesting if those same people will jump off the Canelo bandwagon for the same reason.. There are weight classes for a reason and Kov although no where near his best is still a great boxer who probs keep Canelo at the end of a jab waiting for an opportunity.. I'd imagine he hits a bit harder the Jacobs and even Canelos chin will crack at some point..
