Campbell couldn't have asked for a harder fight for a vacant title. Good luck to him, he will need it.
Could this happen here in the UK? Lomachenko has spoke of fighting in Britain before, and Hearn needs fights he can put on PPV, prime time on a Saturday night. Joshua might have more than just his next fight in America and Dillian Whyte can only fight so many times a year.
Is Luke a big enough draw? Do enough of the casual market know how amazing Lomachenko is, even after the Crolla fight? My guess is no and no and the only way a PPV works at the lower weights is if it's including a very well established Brit, don't think Luke has ever made that breakthrough? Although maybe with the right undercard...
Is this big enough to do a smaller stadium maybe, with a strong undercard? Also I thought WBC don't order fights with other champions? May as well order Joshua vs Wilder in that case.
I agree with your points, but I think Hearn would still make it PPV. The man who can sell sand to the Arabs has one of the best boxers, if not the best, in the world to try and sell to the British public? He'll manage it, I'm sure. The Sky Sports promotion will go into overdrive and the casual fans will be in no doubt who is fighting.
This will almost certainly be a UK ppv based on what Hearn and Arum have ever said. Good fight but Loma too good
Yeah as I typed it I thought of the Crolla fight and the work Hearn has already put in to building Loma. He could do it, the real sticking point is likely to be competition from the US networks. Would either DAZN or ESPN want this fight on their platform even if they had to outbid a UK PPV funded bid?
Loma Vs Campbell could be a good fight for a few rounds before Vasyl runs away with it. Campbell at his best is a top quality boxer. Obviously Loma is something else though.
Hope Campbell takes it, but doesn't look like he wants it in this clip, 4m29s This content is protected
