    The Tacoma Assassin fights:

    Jake LaMotta
    Rocky Graziano
    Carmen Basilio

What's his record with them after? Who does he beat, and who does he have the most difficulty with?

I think he beats all three with Lamotta being his sternest test. Jake by Dec, Graziano by KO, Basilio by TKO.

    Agreed with Seamus.
Steele was a level above. Pure, natural fighter.

LaMotta refuses to go down and probably loses a decision.
I think it goes either way with Graziano, a war definitely comes out of that match.
Basilio could very likely take a win on points.

La Motta beats the crap out of Steele and wins in 12. Graz is ko'd Basilio is KOd in late rds. LaMotta and Graz are 40s fighters. Not 50s.

2 welters and a middle who has benefitted by an over hyped placement.

    Steele x 2 and x 1 more...

No one 'beats the crap' out of prime Steele, and they definitely don't stop him.

Steele was once knocked out in the first round (past prime but still young). If a man can get knocked out, then Graziano landing his Sunday punch could at least knock them out (though he never stated Graziano wins)

In fact id say you overrate Steele's chin

The first time Steele was TKOd he was past prime, and against an ATG middleweight in Apostolli whom he had already beat. The further bouts Steele was definitely past prime.

Steele had a long and hard body of work at this time, and had turned pro at a very young age. 3 of his five losses came in his last 6 bouts.

A chin doesn't have a past prime (outside of brain damage). It's simply that it was exposed due to slowing reflexes, less defense, a shot will, etc.

Apostoli isn't an ATG Middleweight. I'm talking about the Al Hostak loss anyways

Knocked down in this fight, more proof.

Steele's resume is weak in names for what it has in volume.

You can't judge prime Steele based on his second to last bout. Your using a bout he won to try and discredit him.

And chins can deteriorate. The more damage taken, the more it mounts up. Fact is, the damage would mount up for Steele, regardless of how dominant he was, especially considering how young he went pro.

Anyway, regarding your original question, Steele wins them all, having trouble with Lamotta due to his great jab and lead hand. Steele is a top 5 middleweight, he definitely beats Graziano.
