You not only are always wrong, but you're a blatant liar as well. When did I pick Tyson to blast out Ali? Point me to the thread and post, and I'll delete my account if that's true. You do this all the time as well, try to bull**** your way out of things when you feel stupid.
So what if Jackson was a little past his best? He was still top competition in the middleweight division back then and I believe was number 9 on P4P lists at the time he first faced McClellan, having not lost since 1986. Mugabi had a terrible time making 154, and looked every bit a middleweight when he faced Hagler. McClellan was the guy who wasn't a natural middleweight. McClellan couldn't finish the job against Benn because of that awful referee. Anyone who's seen that fight knows that. And since when did Benn get knocked out several times? I hope you're not counting the Collins fights. Also, nobody thought of Jermain Taylor as much of a puncher at all until the first Pavlik fight, and Pavlik was the only guy during all of Taylor's championship fights that was hurt by his punches.
Gerald is not a step above Taylor at all. Taylor was unified midleweight king and had beat a pound for pound superstar/great in Bernard Hopkins. He also fought to a draw with Winky Wright who was also on the pound for pound list. Gerald was a class below these fighters. He was nothing more than a banger. Also, Taylor was better at everything than Pavlik and you seen the result. Doesn't mean nothing.
You are right, McClellan wasn't a natural middlweight, he was a natural super middleweight that was killing himself to make the weight and fighting smaller opponents. Also, Taylor wasn't known as a power puncher? I'll end this here. Taylor had been knocking out everyone that he fought coming up on HBO and he wasn't a power puncher, just laughable.
Yeah man, i feel stupid on the internet talking to people that i don't even know Another post where you show your brilliance.
You're right, he was knocking people out left and right while he was on the way up. Then when he got to championship level, his punching power was nowhere to be found until the first Pavlik fight.
What top middleweights did Jackson beat from the Graham fight to the McCellan fight? The best guy he beat from then was Thomas Tate. The others, Collins, Milton, Negro, were not exactly world-class contenders. Jackson was half-blind with his eye problems, and at a considerable size disadvantage. Anyway, despite G-Man being overrated, he was indeed a tough matchup and I pick him to be the slight favorite over Kelly.
All that you said is true, but it still doesn't take away from the fact that Jackson was at the top of the middleweights in the rankings and was P4P #9 when they first met. (Correct me if i'm wrong)
B-U-L-L-S-H-I-T. yes the ref was overly fussy in the first but the g-man still had plenty of time in that round to take him out, but he could not get to grips with benn's low, weaving defence that he began to employ shortly after the first knockdown.
Maybe you should've bumped the one I bumped a couple months ago instead of the one that's ancient history.
YA and the BRITS would have won if the Americans didnt fight so good .Most of you guys rate MCCLENNEN a GOD ,REALLY WHO WHO DID he rally beat
