No doubt Hurd is a big jr. welter but Hurd has looked vulnerable in his last couple fights. I think Canelo would probably take him out or at least take the decision because Hurd is not technically sound. His defense is weak and against a solid puncher l
Really? I like Spence. Seems like a good guy. These guys who interview fighters are always trying to get them to say something over the top. I didn't hear Spence say he was going to kick Canelo's ass. I heard him say he wouldn't walk away if challenged. I'm just not understanding the dislike to for Spence. And let's face it, the Garcia fight was entirely hyped by Garcia. That was his call, not Spence calling him out. In fact, if you listened to Spence prior to the fight he was highly skeptical it was even going to happen.

Both Canelo and Cotto hijacked the 160 title and dragged it down to a catchweights and caneloweights. . I never gave them any credit for that so stfu.

But there will be a 0 rehydration clause in place. They will both drop dead during the ring walk so it's a NC.

Boxing's history is filled with cases of a champion facing another champion two divisions north (or one division "back in the day"). Filled.

Having said that, I don't care for it if the choice was mine. I'd rather them fight the best in their division. But it is a big deal when the smaller fighter wins, as seldom as that may be. And Spence did just face Mikey who climbed up two divisions for it so that is a real thing.

I really do not see this fight happening for multiple reasons. It is not something they are going to build to, either.

Spence has the skills to win but this fight now is premature . In 2 years time it could be on the level of Mayweather vs Pacquiao. The $20 Million Oscar says he is offering to Spence is no where near enough. Spence already made that much against Garcia.

Spence called out Clenelo, boasted he could beat him (said he'd beat GGG as well ) said he'd jump up 2 weights to fight him, then when Oscar called his bluff Spence bolted into the chicken coop.

Exact same situation with Mikey only difference being Mikey proved he was about that life, whereas Spence, who by his own admission is huge for the weight and a weight bully, proved he isn't. But when you've literally only beaten one world class fighter your own size (and they were damaged goods) and you can earn millions beating up on zero threat career 140 pounder Paulie level featherfists who were or should've been 1-2 in their last 3 fights, and blown up 135 pounders who were fighting in their 5th weight class and were giving away every possible physical advantage (and not by a little bit either) backing up your boasts and daring to be great isn't part of the agenda.

Do the Maths son. The pay per view sales were circa 400,000 in the USA at a price of $75 Dollars for standard definition and $85 Dollars for HD. This means pay per view sales of circa $30 Million dollars with Spence getting 55% to Mikey Garcia’s 45% hence a cool $16,500,000.00 for Spence in terms of PPV revenues. Now with a live gate of over 47,000 at the AT& T Stadium in Texas and Spence being a co-promoter of the fight he will have cleared more than $4 Million hence he probably made more than $20 Million overall.

Uhhhhhhh.......... So no one else makes money but the fighters? lol

They each got $3 mil + a percentage of the PPV. No way they got 17 million in just PPV LOL

I say just match Canelo against Benavidez and let's see if he really is the guy they tout him to be. If he can beat Benavidez then I will tip my hat to the guy. But the way it is now I view him as a fraud, getting every possible advantage going into every bout, from judges to weight, to timing of opponents, actual opponents, etc.

One thing is being a nuthugger, another thing is being a fan.

The difference is fans discuss boxing with logic and facts. That's me.

Nuthuggers overhype their opponents and get offended when someone is critical of them.
