"The rumors that Manny Pacquiao could face Keith Thurman in a welterweight title fight on July 20 are just that for the time being—rumors. "July 13 or July 20 is possible. The Senator is still working out his political duties here before making a final decision but is looking to returning to the ring in July," Sean Gibbons, a Pacquiao advisor, told Dan Rafael of ESPN.com. "After the May 13 elections, the Senator will get in serious conversations to move to close a fight. Until he gets done with elections he is not committed to anything." Pacquiao, a senator in the Philippines, is currently campaigning for other candidates." https://bleacherreport.com/articles...to-fight-keith-thurman-in-july-despite-rumors
Interesting. A lot of people in the biz have been adamant with declarative statements that it definitely is happening on July 20th. Some of them are going to look very foolish if Pac swerves on them.
No doubt Pac is weighing the economics of Keith Vs. Danny. Maybe even Mikey for that Mexican viewership.
He should go for the Kiram vs. Soto winner, and either a) put to bed the rumors that he ducked Zorrita for years (it would be like if Hatton finally had fought Witter at their careers' end, even if he won easily he still would've been able to scratch that nagging "itch") or b) try and knock out Teerachai under Matthysse's par of 8 rounds, and score his physically largest coup since Antonio Margarito.
A) Pac would have crushed Zorrita B) I think Jeff Horn was probably just as big, if not bigger, than Tony
a) I know that, you know that, Pac knows that, and probably even Humberto knows that...but his delusional vocal minority of fans has been shrieking for years now that Pac shamelessly ducked him, and I'm sure Pac would like to put that nonsense to bed. b) Hmm, interesting point now that you mention it. Would be curious to see Horn vs. Margarito side by side...hell, MAKE THE FIGHT.
Thurman ain’t beating no drums to face pac, Spence, or Crawford. He would rather get injured again. Believe me.
Oh i do wonder what pac does in his political duties. When he was a congressman he has the highest count of absence and i still haven't heard his attendance record now that he's a senator. Last time i also heard he tried to pass a law or something he was roasted to ash. Seriously, voting for pacman really makes me think "what the **** were my countrymen thinking?".
90% of the politicians are corrupt. Pac is the few I am pretty certain that is not. Whatever he lacks in competence (if that was the case) he makes up for with good intentions and integrity.
