He isn't, but as a whole it's a better collection of wins ^ in the words of Tony Bellew "I've forgotten more about boxing than you know, pipe down" Oh And **** off
He had a long career of absolute trash but Stiverne 1 was a legit win at the time. Ortiz was legit as **** and Fury was too. How mnay more times do we need to go over this nonsense.
Not as bad as made out but AJ has consistently fought a higher callibre of opponent in far less fights. Also, the Fury fight shouldn't really count. Wilder took it as he thought Fury was done and Fury won 9 rounds pretty clearly
So only wins against the ‘current’ top 5 count? Ali never beat any of the current top 5, neither did Lennox. See what a ridiculous argument that is. I hope you’re trolling.
YES. Only wins against the CURRENT top five count. Ali and Lennox Lewis aren't a current champions. Wilder and Joshua are current champions. Wilder has successfully defended against TWO of the current FOUR top heavyweights. He's floored them a combined five times. Joshua has successfully defended against NONE of them. Current fighters DO matter in the CURRENT scene. Yes. I know you've all been brainwashed. But it's not brain surgery. The CURRENT champs should fight the CURRENT top guys.
At this time last year, Wilder, Joshua and Fury all fought on Showtime in the U.S. All were eyeing fights with each other. Showtime was heavily promoting all their upcoming fights to appear on Showtime PPV in the U.S. Everyone "seemed" to be on board. Wilder-Ortiz aired on Showtime. Joshua-Parker aired on Showtime. Fury's comeback fights were on Showtime. Then Joshua bolted to DAZN. Then Fury fought Wilder, failed to win the belt, got floored twice and bolted to ESPN+. Wilder didn't go anywhere. He's still at the same network with the same title he had a year ago. The other two guys left.
Everyone defending Wilder's pathetic championship reign should be ashamed of themselves. The only reason he still has that strap is because there currently isn't another American heavyweight fit to replace him (which sadly says a lot about the current state of the sport in the US) and the WBC are desperate to keep boxing's most prestigious strap in the former Mecca of the sweet science. The fact of the matter is that if boxing wasn't such a corrupt sport then Fury would be the new WBC champion and Wilder would be well on his way to becoming irrelevant along with his weak ass championship reign. The sooner he's gone the better.
Joshua never bolted to anybody. He doesn't have an exclusive contract with DAZN despite what you may think. He is tied with Sky, but he is not forced to fight on DAZN. In his most recent interview with Kugan he even says that. And Fury did not have a contract with Showtime either. Having fights broadcast on there doesn't mean he gets paid by Showtime. They were never going to give Fury a contract because they love Wilder and protect him with swords, shields and a castle wall, with artillery as backup and crossbows in case they run out of weapons. Fury took the ESPN contract to gain power. It was a strategic move to say 'Wilder comes to me, not the other way around'. It was then all down to Wilder. He could take the DAZN deal, he could go and plead with ESPN. Instead...he's the one ducking. He may or may not be ducking Fury, but he's 100% ducking Joshua. We hear Weasel and Deonkey saying that Deonkey wanted full control of himself and that the DAZN deal locked him in. Who cares about that? He was given a 100m contract, who on earth turns that down? Who cares about splits..he's the B Side and he needs to accept it. He thinks he's bigger than he is. And we have yet more evidence that Deonkey is scared and cherrypicks his opponents. The fact that the WBC have said that Fury vs Whyte must happen as an eliminator is outrageous. They know Fury is vulnerable, but that he'd school Whyte. It's all about avoiding Whyte and AJ. Whyte causes absolute mayhem against Deonkey. And AJ smashes him to pieces. Wilder is ducking. Maybe Fury is, it's hard to tell. But AJ certainly isn't. That's the real picture here.
