I don't need to see scorecards to tell me Golovkin beat a larger and vastly improved Canelo twice.

You can't compare the two because they took place 6 years apart in different weight classes. Canelo has not only got a hell of a lot stronger and bigger in this time, but he has worked on his skills as fighters tend to do. No point in denying the obvious to push an agenda. This isn't a video game.

Youre the one pushing the agenda pbf was 36 the smaller man in his 5th weight class past his best. Ggg was 35 in his prime weight class against a guy coming to his weight class ggg was supposed to brutally ko canelo what happened? Btw everyone looks better when theyre not facing pbf there's levels to this pbf>ggg:deal:

Yes. I will gladly push the logical agenda that drawing comparisons between Golovkin and Mayweather based off their performances against Canelo 5-6 years apart without any regard for context is ignorant at best, deliberately trolling at worst.

Regarding Golovkin vs Mayweather. Do you really think that is some enlightened conclusion? There is no comparison as to who is the greater fighter with the superior legacy. But it has nothing to do with the Canelo fights. If you are trying to argue this evidence Mayweather of the Canelo fight would beat Golovkin, I would strongly disagree as well. Mayweather would likely even lose to Jacobs at 160...and that has nothing to do with a lack of skill on his part.

This is a fact but here are other facts:

    Mayweather 5'8" 72" 150 lbs
    Canelo 5'8" 70.5" 152 lbs

I do not believe fight nights weights were released but both men tend to hydrate quite a bit. It's hard to argue Mayweather was at size disadvantage when his significant reach advantage dominated the fight.

Everyone ages differently. So this "35 vs 36" line of approach doesn't interest me.

Prime Weight Class. That's an interesting thing to say given you are arguing that these fighters exist in a vacuum. I would argue Canelo's Prime Weight Class is MW, because he's never looked better as he has in the last two years.

Canelo wasn't doing things like this against anyone in 2013. And here he is against a BIG and very good MW.

Your line of reasoning is coming off like someone that may watch boxing but doesn't really understand what he's seeing. Canelo's improvements over the last 6 years should be evident. As well as his drastic muscle gain.

If you put 36 year old 150 lb Mayweather in the ring with present day Canelo, I would not like his chances. That is not to big up Golovkin or knock Mayweather, that is objectively looking at the facts. Mayweather would be surrendering too much weight and power to a razor sharp counter puncher with a very high ring IQ.

He was , and arguably to greater effect since he was lighter and less bulky.

He fought Mayweather directly after Trout and there was just a pound and a half difference on the scales. Btw , there was 4 years between Mayweather and Golovkin , not "6".

Fight night weights weren't released, but if we extraopolate from Mayweather's fight night weights for previous fights, Mayweather typically only rehydrates up to five pounds (he rehydrated only three pounds against Ortiz, e.g.). Canelo, by contrast, would almost always rehydrate in excess of 10 pounds, like he did against Trout in his previous fight. There was a clear weight differential when they met in that ring, and the reach advantage only mitigates that somewhat.

He's doing flashy things against Trout but was pretty sloppy and actually getting caught quite a few times in this "defense highlight" clip show. I first noticed dramatic improvements in Canelo in the Kirkland fight.

4 and 5 years between the fights. Point still stands. He has improved in this time. Canelo even improved between the Golovkin fights...I can't believe this being debated.

I already noticed that lots of people who hype up Clenelo are Mayweather fans, because they think that Mayweather's victory over Alvarez makes his resume look better.
But it only shows that Floyd lacks good wins over prime fighters and his fans are grasping at straws .
Besting a green, drained 22 year old is one of the best Mayweathers wins lol
    And old injured Pacman.

Mayweather looked smaller than Ortiz. Ortiz was taller and heavier for sure. He did not look smaller against Canelo. And given Mayweather's skillset and style, his reach advantage is a huge asset. It's really like trying to argue Wlad is a smaller disadvantaged fighter because one of his opponents his heavier by a few pounds. If he has the reach and all other factors are marginal, he's not disadvantaged!

And I honestly think given the context what Mayweather did against Canelo was remarkable and one of his finest performances. So don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking him down. But we need some realistic perspective on this. Mayweather did not beat the MW that has given Golovkin and Jacobs hell. He beat a Super Welter at a catchweight that scraped by Trout.
