I think its possible and Im hopeful. Ive come close a few times to finding a film of him in action and Ive found a small training film that hadnt been seen before (not the one that is common) but only time will tell.
I really hope a reel surfaces and that it's a good one. Personally Greb/Tunney would be the first prize but there are others that would be almost as good. If somebody had filmed the "sparring session" with Dempsey it would be time to dance a little jig.
I found a film of Dempsey sparring the same day he sparred Greb. It turned out Dempsey was sparring Marty Farrell. In 1918 Greb took part in an exhibition bout. The exhibition was set up like this: Joe Bonds and Jim Coffey faced each other one round, then Greb fought Bonds, Coffey, and Al McCoy one round each. I found a film of this event but it only showed Bonds and Coffey facing each other. I was that close two times to finding Greb in action. Greb fought Mickey walker July 2, 1925. Two months later Walker fought Dave Shade. I found footage of the Walker-Shade fight. So its entirely possible that a Greb fight is still lurking out there.
Jacobs is/was an authority on boxing films and looked for Greb films without any luck. There were five fights between Greb and Tunney. Logic says one was filmed. Heck there too much out there of fighters who didn't even approach the statue of Tunney or Greb.
Is this video available online ? Has it been digitized ? Or do you/the guy who owns it keep it for himself ?
Don't worry, when Klompton finds it I'm sure his first priority will be for you to be able to see it.
I also have two copy's of greb V Tunney a never seen before 2.5 second clip of Sam langford and the Dempsey Jack Johnson exhibition I'm giving them all away for free
