What are the chances of some weight classes getting scrapped?

Do you ever see it happening? I personally think it's time to drop some divisions. Nobody ever campaignes at 140 or 154 their entire career in order to even legitimize these weight classes. If it's just stepping stone divisions then I'm sorry, either make 147 or get lost. These titles hold next to zero prestige.

I don't mind the divisions but would love to see the world belts cut down like way back when.
3-4 world Belts @ any weight is to many.

Yeah no doubt. That's a whole other problem with this great sport. Boxing is the best sport in the world but they sure do a lot of pointless things.

I find it more pointless to have all these stepping stone divisions in the mid/lower divisions. There are some guys out there that can't quite hang with 260 pound man, so I do see a reason for a cruiserweight division, but 154? Just be middleweight ffs

Zero. The sanctioning body are making to much money from 5 belts per weight per organization.

And it's pretty obvious that those divisions have always been weak as hell, with a few historic exceptions.
    I am on the fence about 105 but it should be 105*, 112, 118, 126, 135, 147,160, 175, 200, 220*.
220 is something that should be looked into. Maybe drop Cruiserweight down to 195 or even 190.

Good lord 5 belts? I haven't been as informed in the past year or two as I have in the past (wife, kids, yadda yadda) but last I checked there weren't 5 major world titles.

This. If anything I see more weight divisions and more alphabet organizations in the future.

WBC already scrapped the HW division for Wilder.
He's fighting in his own made up Haymon division.

Yes I'm embellishing it a bit but the WBO with their super champ, regular champ, and intern champ. The WBC has diamond, silver, champion in recess, intern champion, and champion. Other major organization also have their champ and intern champ, etc..

Nah they should abolish 105, keep 108 and mix up 112 and 115 into something like 113 but i doubt it since 112 is historically a glamour division

Less than the chance of more being created.

Would that make 137.5 light junior welterweight or heavy light weight?

Which decision would result in promoters and alphabet organisations making more money? That's the direction they'll go in.
