Correct at 30 years old at the time,, but very very shopworn by that point in his career,, Been in numerous wars and with his style you burn out quick not to mention the amount of fights he had at that point! He did not have the skill set SRR had he was not able to box on the back foot effectively,,, ever bout for Carmen was a war which will wear you out. With SRR he had the skill set to mix it up or box which in turn leaves you with a longer career less injurys and damage so its a trade off in my view on the two meeting when they did!

Again I explained how styles can lead to a longer career with less wear and tear

But double the amount of fights and being six years older?
ps I'm aware differing styles have different periods of longevity.I have seen some boxing matches.

Hearns was something else that night. The KO was gonna come sooner or later.

At what weight. 160 or 147? SRR had an all time left hook. He certainly could stop Duran. Hagler gave Duran too much respect, because he was Hagler.

There is no rule that you had to KO your opponent with one punch. Robinson was the best combination puncher maybe of all time. He had power in all of them. If Hearns had better power at middleweight he didn't prove it. He couldn't stop Barkley or even drop him. Did Hearns KO James Kinchen? I don't remember but it was a rough fight.

Hearns didn't stop Hagler either. Not sure how this favors Hearns.
Graziano took a 10 count, Olson took a 10 count, Fullmer took a 10 count. His KO of Turpin was an awesome display of power. Ray even knocked out some good Middleweights while he was at 47+ like Artie Levine. Giving away at least 10lbs.
    His record speaks for itself.

Hearns could definitely hit I would be on board with that opinion of being above Robinson if there was anything to back it up.
