Good thing there's a war on cancer going on.

    Ah this is sad news.
    Loved watching Bert Cooper fight.
He always left everything in the ring.
    R.I.P. a true warrior.

bert cooper is part of my earliest Boxing memories. he personified what first drew me to Boxing: left hooks, brawling, power.....and knockdown dragout type of wars.
    RIP smokin“bert!!!!!!!

RIP Unfortunately during his prime years there were always stories about benders and cocaine binges that curbed his potential. What is sadder still is that although he had moments of sobriety, he continued to relapse throughout his later years. Source: an interview with Cooper and a friend/mentor/benefactor posted to the old-ESB homepage in 2010/2011

Cooper was a fun fighter. His fight with Mercer was legendary. Sorry to hear this.

What I remember most about Bert Cooper was his big smile as he came out of an exchange, kinda like saying "that all you got?" Liked his style. He came to fight.

Yeah, but cancer is a moving target. It morphs into different things, depending on what type you have. I don't think there is such a thing as "a cure for cancer" because it is always different from person to person. New strains are constantly occurring. You can knock it down and put it into remission but it is always there.
