It's not him, even though he has:
    O'Dowd
    Dave ********* http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/31731 (don't know why I can't type this name)
    Chip x 3
    Dillon x 2
    Greb
    Lewis
    McCoy

That's 10 wins against champions for Gibbons - the most so far, so he's now the man to beat.

We still may see Fast Fres Oquendo win a title.

    Most wins.

So it will involve someone who surely has multiple wins over a handful of titlists.

I bet its on of those old school! LHW guys.

    Young Corbett III?

It's one of those old guys who fought someone a whole bunch back in the days in the exhibition circuit era.

Corbett was himself a world champ - so it can't be him.

    You're getting very close!

We're talking about an oldtimer, who has a total of 16 wins against:
    2 welterweight champions
    5 middleweight champions
    2 light-heavyweight champions

Did the fighter ever receive a title shot?

I reckon it's either a murderers row or a fighter denied by the colour line.

I'm never quite sure who is recognised as world champion or just a claimant but I know Leo Houck beat many world champions and top contenders. He has an incredible record but I don't think he ever got a shot at the title.
