Do unconventional boxing techniques work?

Roy Jones boxed completely outside the textbook, and almost outside reality at times.

IN his prime he wasn't even fighting the other guy, he was merely going through some kind of physical ritual that only he understood.

Everyone else, including his opponents, were just spectators

So to answer the question - Yes! If you're spectacularly gifted.

 

Jones wasn't a great boxer, just a freak athlete.
However he did set up his right hand really well. Knew how to hide it and when to throw it.

It's an oversimplification to say he wasn't a great boxer.

He was great at utilising his talents. You can't ask more than that

 

Well the emphasis lies on the word "great".
He had plenty of fights where he looked absolutely confused at times, but he was able to overpower his opponents with athleticism.

 

Marcos Maidana proves you don't have to be the most athletic to pull off an a awkward style.

 

For a Brit seeing you write that was unexpected. Many of those guys from your side of the hemisphere love Roy Jones and Ali and openly admit to copying those styles. You know guys like Calzhaghe, Fury, Patel, Josh Kelly, BJ Saunders, Lomachenko, Gvozdyk, etc and you have no problem cheering them on. Come on Ballsey.

Dude I personally don't recognize "Europe" as a separate continent, thats some made up social construct like IQ test and race.
