Tommy Loughran .. under rated, forgotten or what ?

    I've ben reading a bit about him and studying the films I can find .. putting aside the obvious, that in a long career he supposedly never fought a black fighter, his style and career is quite impressive .. you rarely hear him rated when top light heavyweights are mentioned anymore ... where does he rate ?

    I can't see how he could be left out of a top ten at175lbs,having said that, from what I have seen of him,[not a great deal,] he isn't my type of fighter.

    Loughtran was one of the greats ever....absolutely top 10

    I don't think he's forgotten among this board. A top 10 LHW fairly easily.

    And to think... Greb beat him 3 (?) times.

    It is pretty astonishing when you think that Loughran beat Walker, Braddock, Godoy, Sharkey , Uzcuden, Baer, Carpentier and gave Tunney a very close fight at a very young age. That said he was only 21 when fighting Greg too ... Loughran was clearly an amazing fighter.
