He got smoked by two of the very best heavyweights ever. That does not make "many fighters in the 175-190 range"....

Don't pretend he faired even remotely well above 175. Those weren't his only fights above 175.

Only one man 190 or below ever defeated him. And that was in his 10th fight.

But weren't they just some of the first primitive steps in the athlete era, with the lil' gumption types just being phazed out? Surely the heavyweights from when the athlete era was in full swing would totally outclass them.

There was significant athletic ability there. It must have been a revelation for the time. A man on the moon. Women and minorities insisting on their rights. Real athletes.

Doug Jones and Mauro Mena beat him under 190. Ali, Foley, Terrel, and Frazier beat him over 200. He never beat anyone good over 175. The conclusion here is that he doesn’t make the list.

In his 10th and 13th fights respectively.

Are you one who includes Archie Moore on your list?

I didn’t post a list, but a big difference is that Moore actually demonstrated that he could beat bigger men.

I’m sure someone like Qawi would put Foster’s lights out at 190 after seeing what Frazier did.

Sorry friend but the only list Roy Jones would make fighting this crowd at that weight would be the critical list at Mercy General hospital.

I like Qawi,, but he doesn't compare to the Frazier that ko'ed Foster. Bob even jolted Joe with a good left hook according to Frazier. Spinks jolted Qawi at 175 , Foster would do the same

At 190, I’d be surprised if Foster finished.

4, 6 and 10 would be lower if it was not a strictly head to head question.

I don`t think too many fighters at 175 would have been wise to try and stop Foster because of his power and reach.

Maybe, but this thread is anything under 190.

Qawi`s power was nothing like Frazier`s, Foster just couldn`t take a heavyweight punch, Spinks wasn`t that robust at heavy either and Qawi`s punches didn`t have that much effect on him, Frazier`s punches would have destroyed Spinks.
