I don't know if you are joking or if you are serious. Primo Carnera was a slow lumbering oaf. If you think he is as athletic as modern heavyweights you are either joking or just another one of these old guys who still think these unskilled club fighters from this era could compete with even the worse modern skilled heavyweights.

Thanks for posting that Kev but there is no title to say which of the two it is, Antony or Primo. Care to clear that up for me?

If Carnera punched like that they would say he was flailing arm punches. Confirmed 10/10

The way he violently shakes his head back looks like he's practising the moves he should make after being hit. It's like the choreography in 'Rocky'.

No. its like the choreography in 'The Champ'!

There's nothing like tucking your chin in.

And that was nothing like tucking the chin in.

You really don't see the vast technical differences between how Primo and Joshua move and throw punches, do you? Honest question.

I am neither a modernist nor a nostalgia dogmatist. I do believe that the whatever forces may have improved the sport have acted disproportionately on the heavyweight division, mainly due to its unlimited weight limit and the improvement of modern LARGE athletes.

I push 4x the weight on the sled at my gym and am approaching 50 years old. I have my suspicions that AJ is more show pony than not.

I push a lot more weight too (not sure I would in the middle of whatever kind of crazy circuit Joshua was probably doing though). I was more impressed by the agility, core strength, and coordination he demonstrates in some of those clips though, considering that he's a 6'6, 240lb fighter.
