Only seen half of prograis fights but he looks razor sharp, also manages to do what Mayweather did and fights at his own pace. Taylor is good but he takes too many shots and is a bit overrated imo. That was a good win but it was closer then some people were scoring it in the RBR thread. Without the knockdowns would of been close but Taylor would of still won. Needs to fight a much better fight in the final though. Only doubt for me with Prograis is can he dig deep and have a scrap because Taylor can. Can he cope with a rough fighter, because Taylor will shove his glove in his face, use the elbow etc. If Prograis can cope with those kinds of things, its going to be a tough fight. Prograis a slight favourite imo going into the final.
Can't see anyone that's better atm. Guys absolutely lethal. Knocking good fighters out in a round or two consistently. Can't see anyone stopping him in the next few years.
Not having that, you can be a gent and then flip a switch and be a horrible **** animal if you want. I don’t mind Taylor as a person myself though.
I am talking about Taylor not some imaginary person who is a gent that flips a switch. That spite and edge helps Taylor in my opinion.
Couple of new British champions tonight, although Josh deserves all the kudos in terms of standard of opponent. I thought Taylor showed incredible grit and character in going to the trenches with him, but as mentioned by @kojak and a few others, he has way too much skill and lateral movement to be sitting in the pocket and eating shots like that. Just because you can take them, doesn’t mean you have to. Apart from that slight criticism, credit to the lad.
Congratulations Taylor. He is a real classy stylist and good to watch. I don't know enough about Prograis but where I think Taylor's biggest downfall or should I say will prevent him being amongst the absolute elite is his concentration. Taylor switches off from time to time. Still though, good on him.
Well what a cracking night of boxthing. Started off with Wham Bam Chan scoring an early KO and Paul Butler looked in good form against a limited fighter. Did disappear for a couple of pints when the very small Scottish lad was on before the main events. Plenty of Japanese fans in the Arena supporting Inoue and what a performance from the little man. Burnett should steer clear in my opinion as he looks quicker and more powerful than the best version of Manny Pac. The Taylor fight was a cracking fight with two warriors not giving an inch - Taylor just too skilful on the night and fully deserved the verdict. Great arena, great atmosphere but it was a pity that the Black Curtain was called into play to hide the top sections of the arena with the other sections only about 80% full. This card really deserved a full arena. Great this card was on Sky with Mr Eh Day Hearn present - they all must realise after watching this that the Matchroom pony on PPV and not on PPV is simply not good enough.
Inoue is one sick sick boxer and sick fighter. The kind of power he generates and the perfection of his technique is p4p top 10 level.
