Pains me to say it but that was one hell of a performance by Wilder. That only builds to the interest of a Joshua unification. Wilder is clearly the hardest puncher in the division, people will draw comparisons to the Joshua/Breazeale fight and it looks favourable for Wilder.

That right hand he threw to finish it was vicious, best right hand he's ever thrown.

Apparently you don't like Wilder either.

If Parker make it to round 12 with Joshua so can Wilder.

He's pretty high up there. He'd have to be since that's about his only outstanding attribute.

AJ won't be terrified but he will no doubt redouble his efforts in the gym to improve his defence against the right hand.

Thing is about Wilder he really only has one weapon, it's a hell of a weapon as the KO of Breazeale showed but if Joshua can diffuse it like Fury did for 10 out of 12 rounds then Wilder will be far less dangerous.

I just hope that win gives Wilder's team the confidence to stop delaying the fight. **** Ortiz and Kownacki next, we want Joshua/Wilder now.

I lost a lot of respect for Wilder regarding his "body" comments. That's just deplorable. You don't say s*it like that. Boxing is brutal enough. Wishing to bring death upon someone in a sport this brutal is just low. Did anyone see how Nigel Benn reacted to seeing Gerald McClellan in the state he is in? That's pure class, somthing Wilder seems to be completely devoid of.

Wilder has a left hook as well, he knocked down Fury with it in the 12th round. I think AJ like he did with Povetkin will start Cautiously and hope Wilder tires and punches himself out before getting aggressive himself. That is an interesting chest match but based on what i have seen, i have more confidence of Wilder handling AJ's best punches but can't say the same for AJ being able to take Wilder's right hand.

I don't take those comments seriously, a boxer has to sell himself and the fight.

Completely agree. Deontay's power is downright scary. You can criticize a lot of things he does in the ring, and there is plenty to criticize, but nobody has ever thrown the right hand with the pure power Wilder does. Breazeale's best traits are his toughness and chin, and that right hand obliterated him. Everything Wilder landed was shaking him.

Thats what bothers me. To beat DW you have to get him before he gets you. The longer a fight goes between AJ and DW the more it favors DW. DW is a more fluid puncher and throws from awkward angles so any exchanges are dangerous asf for AJ. I could be wrong but its possible that the Fury fight made DW a better, hungry and more dangerous fighter and the opportunity to beat him may have passed. At least for a while.

Fury was already going down from the right hand when the left landed. Wilder's left hook is more of a slap than anything, only time I recall him hurting someone with it was Molina. It's his right hand that always ends the fight.

Am sure DW learnt a lot from the Fury fight i.e. to be more patient with the knockout and not waste punches so early in the fight especially unnecessarily

I still favour Joshua. It will be interesting though, as Wilder is a fighter that’s pressed more often, and that’s when he’s most dangerous; catches his opponents cold.

Joshua is not pressed as much, and is at his most dangerous when he’s pressing the fighter.
