Wilder refused a 3 fight $100mil deal that included the AJ fight. Last night he got $10mil for Breazeale. Say the second fight was $20mil vs Whyte or someone, or Ortiz. He would be getting massively overpaid! And it still leaves $70 mil in the kitty for the AJ fight. What’s he holding out for?
All I know is they marched a fat ass 50yr old Cuban into the ring last night and Jim Gray tore right through the B.S. Anthony Joshua is fighting some fat ass Mexican tub of lard. And I dunno who Fury is even fighting The whole thing is a sham. Wake me up when Wilder fights Joshua cause that's really the only fight that matters.
How much is AJ getting (over)paid to fight Tubby Ruiz? How much is he leaving on the table? Make the fight. Agree to a split — 60/40 or even if they gave 50/50 would generate more $$$ than this. And no strings, no ties to future fights for either guy on Da zone or Showtime or any other platform. Just straight up one-fight deal with a rematch clause — if AJ wins rematch is on Da zone and if Wilder wins it’s on whatever platform his promotion chooses (probably Showtime PPV but it would be up to them).
According to many that fat ass Mexican turd beat Joseph Parker in New Zealand for the WBO title but was robbed, and Parker beat Joshua but was robbed. So using combat sports mathematics the fatass Mexican turd should beat Joshua. He was the next best option available after Whyte refused the fight, fat ass Miller triple popped and so on.
Joshua is getting $30/35mil apparently. There is no split. It’s a subscription service with subscribers already. It’s not PPV buys. So asking for a split isn’t possible, asking for parity in pay when signing a 1 fight deal when the other might sign a multi year / multi fight deal is again impossible. It’s common sense, it just seems like obstacles being used to stop a fight. Name your price and get paid or DAZN refuse and get your own network to ask AJ to name his price.
Of course there’s a split. If it’s 50-50, to make it simple ... if AJ gets $50M then Wilder gets the same, or $40M or whatever. Or make the total purse $100M (or whatever) and make it 55/45 with the winner getting the bigger split.
How can there be a split if Joshua is signed to a multi fight deal. Hypothetically speaking Joshua signs a 5 fight deal now for $250mil. They can turn around and say ok $50mil of that is for your fight with Wilder, Wilder then gets $50mil but Joshua’s next fight is against Tom Schwarz and he gets paid $50mil again. Obviously Schwarz fight isn’t worth that but they’ve now underpaid for Wilder but overpaid for Schwarz to compensate it.
Maybe DAZN should offer Wilder that body he's been going on about, get the human sacrifice out of the way, and he might agree to the AJ fight.
There's no split, DAZN is sub based so they are signing fighters to multi fight deals. If Wilder doesn't like it then counter offer with more money. DAZN offered 120$ mil for 4 fights.
This fight obviously has the ability to be made without a multifight package. Wilder is gambling on raising his profile to take a larger share. He raised his value several times over in 2018 and, due to social media, raised his profile again last night with a highlight reel k.o. It should be a 50-50 deal with a rematch clause.
