I think they both overestimated Breazeale's durability due to him going 7 with Joshua and underestimated how hard Wilder hits. I gave Dom a small chance if he could land something heavy himself early because he can punch but I always said this was a highlight reel KO in the making which is why Team Wilder and the WBC were so desperate to foist this fight upon us.

I think we can all agree that Whyte would of made for a much more interesting Mando even though the end result - a one shot KO - is very much likely the same.

It was Dom Breazeale in there....not fkn George Foreman.
But Wilder deserves credit for dispatching him quickly unlike going rounds with Molina, Szpilka and Duhaupas.

He needed this bounce back fight against a guy who's not top 10 in his division and coming off loss to Fury.

yes isn't boxing or at least it's fans a funny lot,one second from losing made all the difference.
Say what you like about Wilder but pulling out late knockouts when needed does indeed show greatness and I believe that's what he's referring to when he mentioned the mental side to his game.

Small, especially Wilder but that right hand is an equalizer. AJ stands a better chance because he's a very good counter puncher, also has a nice sense of distance wich could nulify some of Fury's offense and is also good at cutting the ring off, but I'd still favor Fury because he's a bad stylistic match up for him and is too akward for him.

Every time Wilder knocks out some mediocrity, people overreact. He is STILL a limited fighter with a padded record and a suspect chin. NOTHING will EVER change that.

What do you mean nothing will change that? If he walks through the fire eating bombs from Joshua on the way to a KO win then he has to get his due no matter how shameful the way he navigated his way to and held his belt hostage earlier on.

    A target he found twice.
Don't get me wrong here I have said the same about if Fury cuts out showboating and stays tall with that lean back style he has,Wilder could struggle to drop him again but like CST80 said you're supposing Wilder can't improve when in fact it would be hard for him to fight any worse than he did that night.
Imo Wilder wouldn't show the same respect to Fury again.

Who are you even talking about? There isn't a fighter out there who did what you're describing. There is a guy who beat a finished Dimitrenko and lost a close fight to Parker. Being sent in to lose to an undefeated Izu and getting the W, then beating Negron, is better than that.

easy to say that he wont show no respect again

its one thing saying you gonna bulldoze your way against fury but actually doing it is different

6 foot 9 260 ib guy with long reach with awkward movement lol that in itself plays with your mind

if wilder tries to show to respect against fury he will just keep missing

It's the same for Joshua.I made a post years ago about what if both just carry on winning, would that not be good enough?
