You've taken my whole entire point out of context and twisted it around. I do find it funny how quite a lot of posters on here are boxing experts going on about and saying things like ''Taylor needs to pivot and throw the right cross in these situations'' and ''he needs to gauge his range better'' and ''why doesn't he throw a double-jab followed by three left hooks to the body''. I doubt even 5% of people on these forums are greatly experienced fighters or coaches, yet a few are commenting on Taylor's ''weakness/s'' and telling/instructing him what he needs to do.
I haven't twisted anything mate. The point I'm making is that if somebody has an opinion on anything boxing related, whether it's right or wrong, this is the place to voice it. The forum would be pretty quiet if it's only "greatly experienced fighters and coaches" who are allowed to comment on the technical aspects of the sport. Most of us here love boxing, watch a lot of it and form our own opinion based on what we see. If someone with a greater knowledge of the sport, disagrees and is able to correct someone or simply offer a different opinion, then by all means. I just don't get why you'd want to discourage people giving their own opinion or analysis. It's kinda the whole idea of the forum.
I'm not saying that ''anyone who hasn't fought or coached at a high level can't discuss fighters or potential fights (such as Spence - Thurman)'' and of course everyone has the freedom to post (right or wrong) whatever they want as this is a group where we discuss boxing. My original comment was more a sarcastic/tongue in cheek remark about how ''boxing experts'' would be coming in as a lot of us on here are boxing fans not greatly experienced fighters or coaches, so the majority of the information spread out is highly probable to be inaccurate or unreliable.
I'll just further comment that you did twist what I first said, as I commented saying ''boxing experts are out in force'' in which rather than mentioning that point and discussing it you brought up a completely different point about how ''it's almost as if this is a boxing group'' which wasn't really a direct or relevant point concerning my original claim. Well now Nurological, it is logical that a boxing fan would be on these forums, no? Aren't I allowed to criticize or disagree on the reliability, accuracy or authenticity of comments or concepts on here? I'm sure if I made a post labeled ''WHAT RUIZ'S GAMEPLAN SHOULD BE'' and went into great detail labeling a frankly ridiculous round by round game-plan I would warrant criticism as harsh at it maybe. Ironic as I imagine you would be the first to criticize.
I didn't bring up a completely different point. I think your wee sarcastic comment was a stupid one because you're still criticising folk for talking boxing on a boxing forum. Nobody here is claiming to be the fountain of all boxing knowledge as far as I'm aware. Just people who enjoy boxing and talking about it. Why not quote the posts you disagree with and discuss? It's encouraged on a boxing forum you know.
Just watched the fight after being their live. As a few have said he needs to use his jab more, but thought he did really well apart from (5?) which he clearly lost, close fight until the knock downs, had it 3-2 to Taylor in the night until then. pulled away after that. Impressive how much he made him miss aswell. A few people on here seem to be annoyed that Taylor's has a bit of dog or nastiness about him, think it should one of his best assests and somthing loads of boxer would love to have. Amazing to see Inoue.. Was a great atmosphere the lighting for the WBSS Ian quality. Heard quiet a few casuals (mainly bellew fans) which was good as living in Scotland the promotion for the this was non-existent. One thing that pissed me off was the sky commentator saying the booing (happened once) was cause fans where frustrated etc was nonsense, it was because Prograis was on the big screen and playing up for the camera. Great night.
Did you miss the bit where this is about Barry enthusiastically cheering on his man, the admittedly dislikeable josh Taylor? What's wrong with that? Isn't that what a god manager should do? Why do you attack him for doing that? Has Taylor being so snotty coloured your judgement? (Also I'm not so sure it's as simple as Carl suing Barry. Isn't Barry suing Carl? There's a bit of give and take in it I believe)
I felt like Baranchyk was "Taylor" made for Josh and he really should have got him out of there. Some of what Baranchyk was doing was mindless and quite embarrassing to be frank, swinging and missing wildly. He won't be given these opportunities against Prograis. If Josh wins, brilliant. If he loses, I think Josh Taylor is that guy who could really learn from a loss like that and come back much better. Best British talent we have atm imo.
Kinda thought he underestimated the guy he was fighting. After beating a top operator in postol, stopping Vasquez and hammering that American in the quarters he thought easy money. I’m Scottish and was backing him all the way but the two knockdowns saved him. One scorecard was ridiculous. He will fight smarter against prog
I watched toe to toe with Spencer fearon. He thinks Taylor wins the final . I'm not sure if he has watched prograis much but it got me wondering if I have over estimated prograis a little bit.
