Wilder may be the most devastating HW puncher ever...certainly comparable to Tyson or Dempsey

For anyone who disagrees, go ahead and list 10 fighters who you think hit harder than Wilder. I'll wait.

Those guys were competent boxers that's why.

Wilder gets by on strictly speed really and needs a full flush shot to win fights bc I'm all likelihood he will still struggle to out box guys.

This isn't just a flaw, it's his style of fighting that's why. Flaws are things missing from ones skill sets , Wilder is missing the entire skills .

Joshua has better actual knock outs then Wilder and the common opponent at top is Breazeale who did not get up in Joshua fight. This could be bc of rounds or Joshua wasn't actually going for a quick kill. The punch that ended Wilder s last fight was a full right hand, the punch that Joshua ended it with was a lead jab.

    M. Tyson
    Morrison
    Wlad Klitschko

Are 3 that come to mind , does Wilder have a stronger punch then a Tua left hook, Ruddock, Lewis over hand right , etc it's debatable , I can easily make a case for Joshua hitting harder then Wilder.

Other than Gerald Washington (clues that his chin was glass were there and have since been proven), Duhaupas (he does have a good chin and it's a good stoppage), and of course Ortiz (a very, very underrated win IMO), everyone that he's fought had been knocked at least once prior, quite a few had been knocked out numerous times.

I don't think anyone dispute's that Wilder is a monster hitter, but to proclaim him as the biggest hitter ever at this time is a stretch. There are quite a few other HW's that we can name that melted HW's in the same manner as Wilder, but did it against better competition.

Wilder's right is clearly the most dangerous punch in the division though (currently)

At this point there are plenty of data points suggesting Wilder is the hardest hitter in terms of single shot power of all time. The insane raw hatred he gets on this forum will prevent him from ever getting credit for that on this forum, though. Even if he goes on to clean out this division, stop AJ, Fury, Usyk, there will be excuses. But let's look at some current data points:
    A. Has stopped or knocked down every fighter he has ever faced.
    B. One of the highest champ ko percentages in HW history
    C. The division is as physically large as it has ever been. There is plenty of empirical evidence (which you really shouldn't need, since it is commons sense) that physically larger people are harder to ko.
    D. While his early career record was padded, his resume is now much better than people give him credit for. He has a draw against a fringe ATG, two wins against top 5 HWs, two wins against fringe top 10 HW, and about a half dozen wins against fringe top 20 hws. He's kod about 35 other, lesser fighters, itself an underrated feat that virtually none of the other ATG he hard hitters have accomplished. That stands up fairly well in comparison to some historical company as far as ATG punchers go. He's about where Tyson was around his Larry Holmes fight, where Wlad just after the time of his first Sam Peter fight, Lewis was around the time of his Akinwande fight, and Foreman was around the time of his first Frazier win. All of them were taken to more UDs than Wilder by that point, including against sub top and30 opposition, and several had losses.
    E. Specific examples of the brutality of the kds or Kos simply seem at another level. White Wolf, Spilzka, the Fury feat in rising, Big Dom ko 1. I can't think of anyone with that level of anecdotal evidence of brutal power.

However rational a position this is, though, the Wilder hate this forum has will have this position flamed or ignored.

He just KO'd Breazeale, who isn't really a gauge, but im betting LL and Foreman kill him within 3, Wilder that is !

Exactly. Wilder has a hard time taking the shots of stiffs like Dustin Nichols and Harold Sconiers and remaining vertical. Guys like Joshua, Dempsey, and Tyson - REAL power top level power punches, not manufactured FRAUDS like Wilder - destroy this joke. I can't WAIT until Joshua shows what a clown Wilder actually is.

How are ruddock, tua, and shavers more "competent" than wilder when none of them won the title? Do you mean in terms of skill? That's irrelevant to the conversation. I could easily show a highlight reel of all 3 of those boxers being just as wild or lacking in technique.

How is wilder's style a "flaw" if he hasnt been defeated and has a 95% ko ratio? We are speaking in terms of pure punching power. He has knocked down or Ko'd nearly every opponent. It seems more like its just a matter of a taste/preference on your part. And that has nothing whatsoever to do with the conversation.

Joshua? No he doesnt. Out of his 21 KO's I count at least 17 that were TKOs. Many oppponents were in their feet and fully conscious before tbe ref waved it off.

Wilders shots leave a guy twitching like theyre having a seizure. They drop like a bowling ball, and its usually from 1 punch. Joshua breaks you down with his leverage, technique, and an accumulation of heavy shots. A casual fan can see the difference in power and so does Errol Spence apparently.

So you can barely think of 3 boxers? I asked for 10. And no Ruddock is clearly not on the same level.

Breazeales is like old Foreman , they have similar traits , of course Foreman was smarter and had a better chin but I could see the fight how it plays out, I would give Wilder a legit chance against a 90's Foreman.People are forgetting Wilder himself trained like never before and this is what happens when you go against a puncher usually.

I've been saying for years that he has the biggest right hand in boxing history. But every time I do, people start arguing that he's "over rated and couldn't beat any all-time greats". I can't understand the disconnect, I'm not talking skill set or resume or all-time great status, I'm simply saying that in my opinion, in terms of pure power, Wilder's right hand is the top of the food chain. Nothing more, nothing less.

Here you go again with the straw man angles.

Ruddock was a standout amateur even has a win over Lewis and was above average top level in his era , why do you talk such nonsense ?

His style is a flaw because he losses rounds and is not great at keeping aggressive fighters in control bc of it.

Had the Breazeale fight get to about 5th round he would have had difficulty more then not bc that's where Breazeales most dangerous but he's better have a plan besides right hand bc it's not always going to work and we already saw it against Fury.

Povetkin so far is the best stoppage for either.

I'm not even going to get into who's really got better K.Os bc it's shown on resumes. I didn't bring up Shavers either , your losing the plot. Lol

Look at all this hate on Wilder lol Lie to yourself if u want too. The man seeks and destroys his opponents with the straight right hand that will put any HW boxer on that canvas in history that it lands cleanly on! Now that's facts.

I don't care if you're a fan or not, the dude packs ATG caliber power in his right hand. I don't think it's a stretch at all to give that kind of credit.

    Hes 6 imo

    1. Liston
    2. Foreman
    3. Shavers
    4. Baer
    5. Louis
    6. Wilder

I could see him at 5, and for one punch I'd have him Much higher than Dempsey. And a small bit higher than Tyson
