Wilder beating scrubs should have no bearing on your opinion. Joshua can take a punch. Can Wilder? I seriously doubt Wilder gets up from the shot that Wlad dropped Joshua with.
That's the thing with fights like these that end fast. People are also doing selective memory on here , in fact Breazeale was hit flush a few times and continued to welcome another , almost daring Wilder to hit him which really makes me wonder what he was doing in training camp ? Lol Joshua not going to ask Wilder to hit him openly and challenge his power vs his chin....Joshua is a critical thinker in there , it's called Boxing and Joshua understands this., lol.
Breazeale is not Joshua. If he hits Joshua he can hurt him sure, but the same goes for Joshua hitting Wilder. I think Wilder might have a little more punch, but Joshua is more durable and he is bigger. Better jab..
Dom is a fringe top 10, clear top 15 HW. Of course that should have a bearing. Wilder has now drawn against a fringe ATG, beaten two top 5 HW's, two more fringe top 10 hw's, and about a half dozen fringe top 20 hws. AJ has beaten an ATG, two top 5 HW's, a couple more fringe top 10 hws and a couple fewer top 20 hws. AJ has a resume lead but its certainly not night and day, and reviewing their performances respectively is the intelligent way of analyzing their chances against each other.
I’m still favouring Joshua, but I’ve got no arguments for those going 50/50 or even backing Wilder. The Breazeale fight didn’t show me anything new. Wilder is better at getting rid of B and C level guys when they come forward. Joshua is better at getting rid of the same level of fighters when they’re on the back foot.
It has no bearing. Trinidad destroyed Joppy, while Hopkins had a decision over an older more shopworn Joppy. Hopkins owned Trinidad though. Brazeale has no bearing on how Wilder vs Joshua plays out. It's not even Brazeale from the same time frame either.
He has the potential . Like he says - he only needs to perfect for once second , the other guy needs to be perfect for the whole fight. Thats very true. One mistake and it can be all over.
There was no down fall though. Wilder received very little punishment vs fury and dropped his ass twice
I see this as 55/45 for Joshua. But one thing is for sure. Wilder will be very dangerous until the final bell even if he has lost every single round before that.
the downfall was he got his ass outboxed and made him look so ordinary and one dimensional... fury whooped his ass despite 2 knock downs
Is this based on his first round knockout of Breazele? No doubt Wilder is at his best when he throws caution to the wind but I don't think he'd do that against AJ as there's a 50/50 chance he'd get done over himself. I've always thought Joshua would win easy but maybe it is a genuine 50/50 fight as their rankings would suggest?
I've been wanting to see that ever since Wlad fight. Can see what he's doing but he should use what got him there to begin with.
