After reading @Paranoid Android say that Marquezs win over Pac is the greatest win of recent history it got me thinking, What are the best wins of recent history (2000+)? I've narrowed it down to these (imo) but can't put them in order, is there any obvious ones I've missed? Marquez KO6 Pacquiao Jones UD12 Ruiz Hopkins UD12 Tarver Tarver KO2 Jones Rahman KO5 Lewis Mosely SD12 Del a Hoya Morales UD12 Pacquiao Ward UD12 Froch Froch TKO5 Bute Lewis TKO6 Klitschko John UD12 Marquez Rigondeaux UD12 Donaire Mosely TKO9 Margarito HMs Mayweather UD12 Canelo Mayweather UD12 Pacquiao Salido SD12 Lomachenko Fury UD12 Klitschko
Best recent wins... 1) Gvozdyk executing Stevenson 2) Loma shutting Rigobdeaux the **** up 3) Usyk’s masterclass against the ultra dangerous Gassiev 4) Fury schooling Wilder
Why does the best wins have to have anything to do with upsets??? Upsets don't make the W itself any better.. Just expectations were very wrong going in which is the case for over 50% of all fights.
Best wins would be relatively when both combatants were really focused and at the time ready. Easily Joshuas win over Klitschko. No one in HW history has a more or difficulties win in 19 fights. People can argue it all they want it's a fact.
So Wlad being 41 two years inactive and recovering from a loss where he couldn’t land a shot to save his life is the best win.. By your logic the best win is Fury or Wlad to end his long HW reign in which he negated his best offensive weapon.. My single best victories over the last 10 years are: 1. Sor Rungvisai vs Chocolatito II 2. Fury vs Wlad 3. Sergio Martinez vs Williams 4. Marquez Vs Pacquiao 4 5. Mosley vs Margarito I limited mine to the last ten years and I mostly based it one where the opponents were ranked P4P at the time and based on recent performances before the fight and the aura around the fighter.. Choc was P4P #1 when he lost to SSR.. Wlad was in the midst of an historical HW reign.. Paul Williams was P4P #4 and ducked by multiple fighters due to the bad stylistic matchup.. Pacquaio was P4P #1 or 2 and it was believed for the 4th fight that 147 was too much for Marquez.. Margarito was fresh off his demolition job of Cotto and was believed to be the baddest man in boxing..
well you have to know where the fighter is so I stopped reading most what you posted bc it doesn't apply to an athlete like Wlad. He was in THREE training camps never lost back to back matches and I know he looked the best I've ever seen him , maybe you just don't have that knowledge ? Either way that Wlad would have taking Fury out. ( And not dinner) There's certain things I call close predictions and then theres not .When it's ever 50% or so ppl need to decide on their own . I've never lead anyone wrong when I said do not take THAT guy! Lol wlad in THAT night was one tough mofo, anyone who's never boxed before wouldn't understand.
