A lot of accusations get thrown at AJ on his possible use of PEDS. I too have had my say on it. Most of the legit claims (for those who know much about muscle building) come from AJ putting on over 10lbs of lean muscle in the space of 1 year and those how know anything know thats damn near impossible when you need to do a fair bit of cardio work.

However in the last 6 months Wilder has went from 212.5 lbs to 223 lbs whilst looking just as lean yet there doesnt seem to be the furor around this like there was when AJ came in much bigger.

Anyone know what the testing was for the Brezeale/Wilder fight?

Question is why is there not the same focus on Wilder that seems to be on AJ?

Is a professional athlete increasing their bodyweight by less than five percent in that period of time really that strange? Especially given Wilder came in very light against Fury anyway?

Going on the interviews I seen with Wilder they did not intend to come in light against Fury I know he had to to different testing for the Fury fight that he had done in previous fights. But Wilder defo said that when they got on the scales v Fury they were shocked at the reading.

Its much harder for an athlete to get those kinda gains. those sorta gains are only found in beginner lifters... and this is when they are solely focused putting on muscle mass with little to no cardio work.

Most gains are found by newby lifters who can put up to about 25lbs a year in muscle. An established big guy like Wilder who has been lifting for years, will be doing cardio and at his age IMO cant put on over 10lbs in lean muscle in under 6 months. Established and specialised bobybuilders solely focusing on muscle mass and with all the gear in the world being poured into them will struggle to put on 10lbs of muscle within 6 months at the age Wilder is.

My main point however is when AJ did similar there was far more speculated about it especially on here but not even a peep about it in regards to Wilder? Curious as to why?

Is it just going on as lean muscle though?

I think the pictures speak for themselves, Wilder doesnt ever carry round much body fat. He didnt look to be carrying any more or less than he did v Fury. He has that wirey frame (similar to me) that doesnt seem to carry too much fat with it.

I think we need to take a few factors into account - The current data on what can and cannot be gained through lean muslce is based on lots of averages against average people. We are talking about elite athletes here - not 1% in world with freaky genetics!

Secondly it been proven that weight (not muscle or fat) just weight can fluctuate all the time based on, stress, water, sodium, sleep etc etc so unless the weigh in's are always controlled with same factors everytime, it doesn't suprised me when there is +/- 5-10 lbs.

He may well be on drugs but it’s worth acknowledging that at 6’7”, Wilder was underweight at sub 220. The average 6’5+ Joe in “normal” shape is going to be naturally 220ish. Nothing physically screams gear use when you look at Wilder but as I’ve said before it’s best to just assume everyone is using.

He probably should be around 240lbs all things told due to his height.

It’s working for him currently so I don’t see an issue with his weight.

You won't be able to notice a little bit of fat spread across a 6ft 7 body. A few pounds of that weight could easily be fat.

yeah perhaps your right...However my main point is why is there not the same furore when AJ puts on 10lbs over a year but not Wilder when he puts on more in 6 months.

Maybe its just me but all I will say is that since signing up with VADA Wilder has been coming in smaller and smaller with every fight. I havent has this confirmed yet but it appears that Wilder v Breazeale was NOT subject to VADA testing. And then Wilder comes in 11lbs heavier......... A guy that is getting older and has many times stated that he was not looking to lose weight for the Fury fight (quite the opposite) and said he jumped on the scales and was shocked at the reading prior to Fury fight, and has stated many times that he struggles to gain weight puts on over 10lbs between fights and it seems that VADA testing was not done for it?

Are you being purposely dense? Go look at Joshua physique on fight night, compare to Wilders. One screams PED use, one doesn't.

Wilder may or may not be on something, but his physique doesn't scream steroids. Whereas Joshua does.

Please quote me saying that I dont think AJ is on the gear?.... Bear in mind guys like St Iverne and Miller both tested positive. The look of a physique aint what im talking about...the muscle gain in short period of time is what im getting at.

Firstly Wilder himself has said mulitple times (easy to find) that he finds it very difficult to gain weight. When you start off at 207lbs and do not sign up to VADA and increase that weight to 229lbs, THEN sign up to VADA testing and gradually your weight drops to 212lbs then suddenly when he fights Breazeale and no VADA testing and gains the muscle again back to 223lbs that doesnt raise an eyebrow? At no point have I said or suggested that AJ is clean, not at all. In fact wuite the opposite I asked when AJ puts on the weight there is loads of accusations, videos, other boxers talking yet when Wilder does there is very little...why?

I also think its funny that people call Wilder skinny?!?! compared to AJ yeah he aint as thick, compared to a normal person he is a unit !

but yes I am the one who is dense

A 5 percent gain in weight in 6 months, does not scream anything.

Yes Wilder is skinny compared to AJ, that's kind of the point. One looks like your average basketball player, one looks like a bodybuilder, ergo the suspicions of PEDS.

People dont accuse AJ because of how much he weighs. He gets accused because he has the stereotypical physique of someone on steroids, and built that body in a relatively short space of time.

And yes you're coming across as dense, Joshua and Wilder have completely different bodies.
