Can't be overrated. The most singular weapon in the division's history. A uniquely versatile single punch that controlled the fate of the glamor division for a decade.

    Erm , thats a negative.

It was actually his trusted bear hug and back breaker routine that allowed him gain control over the worst HW division known to mankind. :sisi1

Marciano's training routine can't be overrated. The most singular important routine in boxing history that controlled the fate of 49 fights with it's immaculate conditioning and stamina

Maybe in a fictional world. In the real world, cruisers like Marciano aren't allowed to fight modern day heavyweights. Ergo, Marciano by default, disqualifies as a worthy opponent in the first place.

And no, Beterbiev > Rocky Marciano.

I have quoted multiple first hand contemporary accounts of his training camp routine. They were extremely consistent.

His workload was nothing special. 4-6 miles of running in the morning, some basic gym work, a little sparring, lots of napping. I know guys with full time jobs who train as hard or harder.

You are starting to sound like one of those flat earthers who continually denies objective fact in favor of the fiction they want so desperately to be real.

Watch out for the Ice Wall, Brah!

Weird, I could have sworn cruiserweight David Haye fought Wlad must have dreamt it.

Uhuh, up to 8 months in the training camp and not allowed himself the basic human decencies, even no contact with his wife or new food 2 weeks out

I'm willing to bet you don't think it's strenuous because it doesn't include weightlifting. And there's no way Marciano only ran 4-6 miles. Louis ran 6 and didn't have the stamina Marciano had, even though Louis paced himself slower.

There's reports and footage of him doing exercise beyond that anyways. Alot of calisthenics, medicine ball work, etc. There are reports of him hitting the heavy bag for over an hour.

The average fighter will skip days of roadwork in camp and be lax. Marciano didn't stop roadwork even off season.

Also you say lots of napping like its a bad thing

If he'd done some weights he'd be able to beat some of the SHW dinosaurs

Well, as an exaggeration that's an overrating. However he was the most clubbingly powerful heavyweight in history imo. Shavers was more a bolt of lightning, Tyson a cracked bullwhip.

Foreman's the refrigerator that fell on you.

Sure , this 'ATG' jab couldn't hold off a skill-less plodder who advanced in slow motion. :eyebrow2:

Just to play devil's advocate, wouldn't 6+ miles everyday, for so long, destroy Rocky's legs, knees etc?

I do agree that Marciano was the best conditioned heavyweight. I think it's probable he peroidised his running, like a 'modern' athlete.
