Fury is pretty glass legged, especially with shots he doesn't see coming in. Martin Rogan decked Fury, ditto Steve Cunningham As mentioned above he does recover his wits though. Joshua has a decent, but far from iron, chin. Wilder seems to get buzzed quite a bit but has good heart and survival instincts to ride the rough times out. For pure chin I'd say Joshua Wilder/Fury but then reverse for powers of recovery
David Price dropped Fury in training and dropped him damn hard But to be fair apparently Price drops everyone in training
I wasn't aware they'd sparred each other or I've completely forgotten about it I have heard about it before. I know Fury dropped Price in their amateur bout but I don't recall hearing that one before..
OK cheers. For all his faults, Price has big time power in that right hand of his (especially back then) and he's capable of knocking out anyone if he catches them right. Tyson Fury "He's a big dangerous man today, even with four losses by knockout, or however many he has had, he is a dangerous fighter for anybody to take," he added. "Anybody who takes David Price on must be very wary, because even I believe that he is the biggest single-punch knockout man in boxing."
I agree with all of that. Price has murderous power. Tony Thomson said he hits harder than Wlad and has never felt power like it. Bellew said he nearly knocked Haye clean out back in 05, and with head gear on. It's just the old stamina issue. And chin obviously. For that reason I think Dave Allen will handle him comfortably
That's high praise coming from Thompson because not only is Wlad obviously one of the hardest punchers to ever step foot in a ring, and he put Thomson to sleep x 2, but I remember him flooring Thompson with a huge right hand in the corner in their rematch that literally made me gasp and the expression on Thompson's face as it landed was one of WTF?! just happened lol. Here it is This content is protected PROLIFIC SPARRING PARTNER: ADAM MACHAJ Well, one indication lies with the select group of fighters who have exchanged leather will a group of the biggest contenders. One such example is journeyman Adam Machaj. In a 2017 interview with ***********, Machaj revealed that he has sparred with Joshua, Fury, Wladimir Klitschko as well as British favourites David Price and Dereck Chisora. He stated: “I’ve sparred all of them, I was in the Klitschko camp for three weeks. I’ve sparred Tyson and Hughie a lot of times, David Price I’ve done a lot of rounds with, I’ve trained with them all." THE TOUGHEST, MOST POWERFUL AND FITTEST Quite the selection of fighters, no doubt about it and Machaj had different ways of ranking their qualities. He chose the 'toughest fighter' from the four, the best athlete and who punches the hardest. Conveniently, four of the boxers fitted into at least one of the four categories. Machaj decided: “The toughest one I fought in terms of ability was Tyson, he’d beat most of the names out of shape now, getting off the settee. He’s too skilful. “He runs you around and makes you angry. In terms of a physical athlete it has to be Klitschko and Joshua, they’re the biggest athletes. “David Price was probably the biggest puncher as every punch he landed hurt, whilst Chisora was good as he was like a little Tasmanian devil, they’re all good in their own rights.” Well, we'll give Chisora the 'Tasmanian devil' award then. Perhaps the biggest comment of note is that Price is ranked as more powerful than three of the biggest names in 21st Century boxing. Price is known for his power, but it's quite the accolade to pack more punch than Klitschko, Joshua and Fury. However, if anyone would know, it's Machaj. I got Allen via KO in that one
Yeah. But at the same time it proves how insufficient power alone is, as to put Price in there with any top 10 is an act of cruelty. I cringed when I saw he'd been matched with Povetkin, and the KO ended up justifying the cringe.
it does, which is partly evidence as to how much a lot of us have underrated Wilder. He finds a way to land it every time.
The success he had against Povetkin is overplayed too. Povetkin was in the midst of winding up with a big shot of his own when that left clipped him and sent him reeling backwards and I think it was more a case of him being knocked off balance than being genuinely hurt and the Sky commentary was over the top.
I think now hes an average puncher, the power isn't there anymore, if it was he be banging these fellas out before he gases..I don't see the power that everyone talks about, its in the past
I'm sure if he connected flush with his best shot it's still immensely powerful, but prime Price was absolutely wrecking better fighters than the ones he's struggling to put away now.
Povs also past it, prime Pov Knocks Price out very early. The left hook caught him unaware I agree from Price. Did you know, that the Fury's asked Price if he wanted to be a Gypsy like them?? How nice is that, really really nice I thought
Pov is way past his best for sure but he's still one of the top HWs in the world even at the age of 39 and he has one of the best KO highlight reels of anyone at HW. This content is protected No I didn't. That was very gracious of The Gypsy King but I'm not too sure I can co-sign a glass-jawed gypsy even if they're just an honorary one. That's an oxymoron.
