Sad, pathetic post; ill-informed also. “No fighting spirit”? Against Pulev he suffered a horrific eye injury and went for broke and it didn’t work out. Of course he showed fighting spirit. He was on enemy turf and went the distance after the game plan went out the window in round 2. You talk about his lack of power... did you see what he did to Sexton with a short straight? Ask Sexton if he has power... Rather than focus on his weaknesses pay attention to his advantages. Quick hands and great movement. Hughie is a great prospect and the opposite of a joke. To say he has “no fighting spirit” just reminds me how much I hate boxing fans and the absolute garbage some people spout. He was fighting for years while physically unfit dealing with acne conglobota. He was fighting whilst suffering from an illness that sapped his energy and left him physically weak in the ring yet some nobody online who has probably never had a fight in his life is tearing into him for having “no fighting spirit”.
Not disputing that. I’ve never seen Norrad fight so I can’t really comment on his ability but I do not expect a great showing from him. But coming off of a loss after an away fight to Pulev I don’t think there’s anything wrong with an easy fight to kickstart the next world title challenge campaign. The assertion that Hughie has “no fighting spirit” is just ludicrous.
He suffered an absolutely terrible cut over his eye that most people expected to prematurely stop the fight. Immediately in the next round Hughie came out trying to KO and for the rest of the fight he was relying on ambitious one punch KO attempts that were never going to work on a fighter as talented as Pulev.
No. It's not an "easy fight". It's a total mismatch. Norrad had NO amateur career, went from no boxing to turning pro within a few months. This is a joke. He fought at some Canadian lumberjack events lmao. On the other side, i agree with your opinion about Hughie. Hughie is stilly VERY young. He's turning 25 this year ffs. He still has 4-5 years before reaching his physical prime as a HW and he already has very good names on his resume like Parker or Pulev. Also beat a few other decent names like Rudenko. There is no reason to be that harsh and i agree the fight vs. Pulev wasn't his best but his effort was decent. I think there are many "prospects" out there which would quit at some point, getting humiliated by Pulevs jab and also cut badly on the eye. Hughie tried and boxed till the final bell. Still lacking power and skills IMO. He needs to get rid of his team, his coach and needs to change his boxing style. More aggressive style would suit his size anyway, otherwise he will get outboxed by any decent boxer with solid jab like Pulev, Parker. And please do not argue about Hughie has beaten Parker. No, he hasn't.
I’ve seen it three times. You couldn’t even remember the eye cut. I’ve said it before, Hughie’s attempts to one punch KO Pulev were pathetic. But the game plan went out the window as soon as that cut happened. If Fury didn’t want it he would have quit after the eye injury.
Anyone watching this fight. Jeez the fella sounds like a little Jack Russell yapping every time he throws a punch. But looks a decent fighter a bit rough rough but looks very good technically
Hard for me to gauge anything from Dilmaghani here as Parlagi is very basic. As much as I’d love to be stoked on an upcoming prospect with Iranian roots, he does seem to be lacking in power which may not serve his style too well as he rises through the ranks
The orthodox guy has no clue about how to fight a southpaw. He's too tired though, and he is somewhat in automatic mode, in automatic orthodox vs orthodos mode. Not good for him. The southpaw guy, on the other hand (lol, no joke intended), knows very well his boxing.
