With his speed, power and reflexes he is extremely dangerous for anyone. It looks like Fury is the best boxer of the three, Wilder is the best fighter of the three and Joshua lies somewhere in the middle for me at the moment with better boxing skills than Wilder, but maybe a more questionable chin. Wladimir looked faster than AJ in their fight together and Wilder looks faster than Wlad. I did not like the way Wilder came up, he was very protected as they say, however the same could be said of Fury and others as well. Frankly that's the state of boxing today. Find a marketable kid, feed him a bunch of soft touches, bribe sanctioning bodies to give higher than deserved rankings, get an alphabet belt and start printing money! When he stepped up and fought Ortiz he gained a lot of respect from me. He got his chin tested, took heavy shots from Ortiz and finished the fight. I think Joshua has looked more vulnerable when he has gotten buzzed by lesser shots and knocked down by Wlad. Fury has stepped up twice now and so has Wilder. It's time for Joshua to fight a bigger challenge than Andy R.

 

He's nice with it but hes pricing himself out of the big fight. It's a shame coz him and Josh should be amazing

 

Wilder is a very good puncher but it takes more than that to be "the real deal".

He's faced about 1 or 2 genuine contenders in his entire career, and a comebacking Fury, who most agree actually beat him.
The 1 or 2 contenders were Stiverne (the first time) who wasn't ever much good and only rated because he held the WBC belt (probably the worst WBC title holder in HW history), and went the distance
..... and Luis Ortiz, who gave him hell as well.


Yes, he's great at KOing second-raters and guys who aren't even top 10 in a weak era. But when he's stepped up, he's a lot less impressive, isn't he ?

 

We can list his negatives all day long and some of them are a real detriment to him as a Boxer but what ever they are and who ever he is against he may well lose rounds being outboxed but until you get him out of the fight he is very much still in the fight. He has an equalizer, a leveller, a get out of jail free card. He is a problem there is no doubt about it.

But Wilder aint beating the best on the cards. If they can tame the beastly right hand Wilder is up that creek big time.

 

Jamzy. Yes, I think he can do it. However, will he? Won't know unless and until they fight. This fight could go either way. Both have power and both are vulnerable. I wouldn't leave my seat during a round if they did fight. Whichever fighter lands the big one first will probably win. I want to see a more technically polished and versatile boxer (with power also) step in and see how Wilder does. Anyone that steps in with Wilder will be in danger the whole fight. However, it would be a fight for the ages to see someone dismantle him with skill and power.

 

Wilder sucks. Great offensive ability in one of your hands, in one of your punches, doesn't make a great fighter. Nor should his record ever deceive anyone, as their have been other Alabama based dog **** knockout artists who have eclipsed Wilder's record already, such as the legendary Don Steele.

Same question! And we all know he was lucky as a Warden with a fist full of pardons in a women's prison to draw with Fury.

 

Puncher's chance

 

Froch stopping Taylor in the 12th after being dropped for the first time ever in the 3rd round, and pretty much being comprehensively out boxed for the majority of the fight. Weathering a 6 round storm of flush right hands that would flatten 99.9% of fighters to turn the fight around from the 7th against Groves and producing a career defining KO in the rematch. Hammering seven shades out of Bute in his comeback fight after the humiliating defeat against Ward and the unquenced desire to avenge defeat against Kessler and that's just one fighter who has an immeasurable amount of tenacity that was shown consistently against world class and elite opposition.

There are countless fighters who have shown more dtermination and tenacity than Wilder will ever know. Wilder has just TKO'ed Dominic Breazeale FFS, not King Kong and has a loss to the only true top level fighter he is yet to face.

If Wilder defeats Fury in a rematch or finally grows a pair and gives Whyte the shot he deserves, defeating him in the process, I might just buy a ticket for the hype train and not until. Let's bring a little rationality to the conversation for gods sake!

Luis Ortizn't is more Clyde from Every which way but lose as opposed to King Kong. He's such a huge threat to the top guys at heavyweight, that he turns down a 7 million dollar payday against AJ for all the marbles. Yeah, the sooner he retires and is no longer relevant the better. Hopefully then Deonkey will fight someone in their prime
