Good showing from Ireland in the European Youths. Gold for Chloe Gabriel and Michael Donoghue. One silver and 6 bronze. A lot of the loses were debatable decisions against Russian opponents. Donoghue beat the Russian defending champion in the semis in a cracker fight. Think that was the first russian defeat the whole tournament. Looks like a class prospect for the future.
He's a decent fighter with no real backing. Probably struggles for opponents and is seen as too big a risk with little reward.
