AJ's long awaited US debut is here. Its too bad Miller had every element of the Periodic table in his body and the fight had to be called off, but Ruiz is a good fighter and definitely will come to win, so it should be a fun fight.

Who are you guys picking? :chuck:

I think Ruiz will up a good fight. Maybe even stun or floor Joshua, but in the end Joshua will be too much.

Hope it will be somewhat competitive otherwise this fight will be only remembered as a vicious duck of Michael Hunter Jr.

This is a mismatch but only on paper. Ruiz has the chance to do something that Arreola couldn't muster the discipline to do if he comes to win next Saturday.

Couldn't give a s**t about this fight. No disrespect to Ruiz but it's a huge mismatch. Shame, I'd like to see the grin drop off Eddie Hearn's face

I give Ruiz a decent chance in the first 4 rounds.

After that I see AJ slowly grinding him down

Ruiz is much more fluid than AJ, who is kind of stiff and robotic. However, as Povetkin found out, even if you are winning early AJ doesn't need much to put your lights out. Joshua isn't like Wilder in that Wilder needs to be mid or long range to KO you, AJ can shorten his shots and knock you out on the inside. And I think that is what will happen with Ruiz, who will probably win some of the early rounds before he gets caught and knocked out.

Ruiz is a talented heavyweight even if he is a tub of goo, he probably has the fastest hands out of any heavyweight. But I don't think he can maintain a fast enough pace and avoid getting clipped for 12 rounds to pull off the upset.

It's going to be Joshua's easiest defence since Molina. Early KO for Joshua or if Ruiz has a good chin he lasts until the middle rounds before be ground down.

Ruiz Jr is too small, far too easy to hit and his size means he lacks the speed of movement to get close enough to land and not get caught on the way in or the way out.

A decent chance at what?? Winning a round, making it past the 4th??? Obviously not winning within 4, so WTF does a good chance mean to you

Well obviously Ruiz beat Parker and Parker beat AJ according to SOME on here so this is a dangerous fight for Joshua and he should be the underdog.

If he beats Ruiz Jr then it's a massive upset!
