I like to see Patterson connect with his leaping left hook and see how Louis takes it.

Patterson has a chance to score an early knockdown with his lightning fast hook against the measured pace of Joe. that's the best possible outcome for Patterson. Joe Louis has fast hands and is just bigger stronger and better. Patterson likely sees multiple vistis to the canvas or one long one

Likely as well as he took B. Baers and Galentos left hooks. Louis would then arise in destruction mode.

Louis was above Liston, Johannsen...Patterson was a really good fighter, but Louis would take his head off. Maybe 4 rounds.

    Patterson goes night-nights vs:

    Marciano 11 rounds
    Frazier 8 rounds
    Foreman ha-ha
    Norton...wow, that's tougher. Can't call that.
    Holmes 9 rounds
    Tyson ha-ha
Holyfield 12 round decision, though that might be a interesting fight
    Bowe ha-ha
    Lewis 5 rounds.

No offense to fans, but those fighters would walk right through Patterson imo (and please keep in mind that I have no little regard for Floyd, he was a really good fighter).

Louis was definitely a better fighter than Liston and Johanson but for who could dish out the most punishment on someone, Liston all the way

I'd say Patterson gets a quick KD then gets wiped out. Probably in 2 rounds

I'd say both land a bit earlier, or at least explode earlier and finish it then
    Agreed.
    Probably both right
Norton vs Patterson would be a great fight and Patterson might win.
    Tyson body's him
Holyfield's left hook seriously damages Patterson who can't keep up with his pace. Holyfield probably gets a KO/TKO
Bowe does a demolition job on him
There's no way Patterson goes 5 rounds with Lewis

I agree with these, though I think Patterson could make 5 with Lewis pre-McCall. After that it would be a joke, Floyd might not make it two imo.

With Holyfield, I think that Patterson wins a decision over the cruiser weight version of Holyfield, maybe taking a flash knockdown along the way. At heavyweight, I agree with the aforementioned verdict.

Depends on how lazy Lewis is feeling.

I always liked Floyd but not how D'Amato trained and managed him .. I never got that style for a very small heavyweight with a shaky chin. That aside Floyd did have lightening speed, a pretty nasty hook and a ton of heart .. sure at his best he'd be capable of possibly stinging Joe once or twice but if he's match up against the best Louis it won't go more than five or so ..

Keep in mind when Patterson started, the heavyweights of that era were still 180-200 pounds for the most part. Some were bigger, but many top contenders were in that range. As luck would have it for Patterson, once he started competing at heavyweight, thats when they started to gradually get bigger. His last fight was against a 6'3 218 pound Ali. In bygone eras, a 6'3 218 pound heavyweight was a big heavyweight. D'Amato probably didn't count on him being a smaller man amongst big men like that. Patterson's chin likely would have been better with guys his own size or smaller.
